2026 Third-Team All-Prep Softball Georgia Showcase

When it comes to softball in Georgia, October is the month of all months. Attention for the sport peaks in the 10th month of the calendar year due to the push toward Columbus and the state championship.

We at Prep Softball provided another reason for October to be a much-ballyhooed month for the sport with the first-ever All-Star Showcase. The Browns Mill Recreation Center in DeKalb County was the site for Saturday's festivities.

Some of the prospects that were on hand were representing teams still in the midst of the state playoffs. The early part of the day featured many running drills, and Sowell wasted little time displaying that she was in DeKalb County to compete. Sowell also displayed one of the highest exit velocities when her bat made contact with the ball. One can see with that exit velocity why she clubs a high number of home runs. Sowell also excelled in double play drills, playing on the left side of the infield. After two wins over Lumpkin County, Sowell and her Pirates match up with Rockmart in the quarterfinals of the 3A playoffs.

Showcase weekend was an active one for [player_tooltip player_id='195432' first='Evelyn' last='Stubbs']. Stubbs was another player who excelled in the early morning running and agility drills. She stood out as one of the few left-handed hitters who were on hand and impressed by maintaining a great level of contact with the ball. Stubbs led this year's 2A Dublin team in a number of statistical categories, including batting average, on-base percentage, stolen bases, slugging percentage, and runs scored.

Earlier this year, we spotlighted [player_tooltip player_id='159184' first='Trinity' last='Dudley'] as one of the fastest rising 2030s among this year's freshman class. One major reason for this is the hustle and effort she puts into every play, whether on offense or defense. Dudley gets that as a third baseman, it is extremely important that she maintains a strong arm. She approaches the game with a high softball IQ and understands when situational defense calls for her to make plays at second base or home plate. Dudley put together a breakout freshman campaign at 6A Chapel Hill, where she led the Panthers in home runs, doubles, RBIs, and slugging percentage.

[player_tooltip player_id='179200' first='Haley' last='Jackson'] is a multi-sport athlete who also excels as a flag football player in addition to her rising list of softball achievements. Jackson thrives as a contact hitter who also understands the importance of covering as much ground as possible in the outfield. In addition to playing the infield, she also spends a bit of time at third base and stands out as a left-handed batter. Defensive versatility and a high softball IQ are also keys to Jackson's game.
