Ready to take on her freshman year, Savanna Sowell has something to prove, and she’s already making her mark. A three-time USA All-American and two-time HPP performer, Sowell brings versatility and confidence to the infield, and she is capable of playing anywhere she’s needed. At the plate, her bat speaks for itself. During the Legacy Showcase, she posted an impressive .583 batting average, racking up eight singles, three doubles, three triples, and 11 RBIs. Known for her powerful yet consistent swing, Savanna finds ways to get on base and drive in runs, always battling each at-bat. In her most recent tournament, she went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single, helping lead her team deep into the competition. Defensively, her glove is as sharp as her bat. Quick, agile, and fearless, she makes diving plays and locks down the infield. Savanna Sowell is quickly becoming one of the most exciting names in the class of 2029.

Savanna Sowell plays on a team primarily comprised of recruits a year older than she is, but she was an integral part of their championship at a prestigious Colorado tournament over the summer. With Georgia playing high school softball in the fall, Sowell is off to a great start at that level as well, hitting her first varsity home run in late August after going 3-for-4 with two doubles in her first game. She is especially good against rise balls, even ones above the strike zone, and can time them up for extra-base hits to the pull side and the opposite field. Sowell’s speed and baserunning instincts are also assets — she will not hesitate to take an extra base on an errant throw back to the infield. She has already attended camps at Tennessee, Georgia and Auburn.

Savanna Sowell plays shortstop for the Atlanta Vipers Gold 2010 – Lynch team and is the kind of athlete every coach dreams of having on her team. She exemplifies grit, a strong work ethic, and consistency in her performance. On the field, Sowell is a commanding presence, renowned for her defensive skills, tenacity at the plate, and unwavering dedication to practice. Although she is a 2029 player, she led her team by example and put in maximum effort throughout the second week of PGF. She battled every pitch, surely becoming the dirtiest player in the infield, as she was always diving or sliding on any opportunity she came across. Savanna Sowell will be an athlete to continue to keep an eye on as she continues playing into the fall.
