Fall ball is back, and there are plenty of 2029 players across the country who are worth keeping an eye on.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five middle infielders from the high school graduating class of 2029 to watch this fall.

After a productive freshman season for the Millard North Mustangs, Lynley Paulson's bat has been absolutely scorching her second time around. She is hitting .524 at the plate with 22 hits and 18 runs scored over 17 games as of this writing. Her speed has also been a factor, as she has three triples, one double, and three stolen bases. She is the ideal slapper and can rack up infield hits. Defensively, she has been perfect with a fielding percentage of 1.000 and 16 putouts in 16 total chances. She has impressive range and the right level of alertness needed to be a capable infielder.

Some players simply have a knack for driving in runs. In the case of Zoey Hawkinson, the stats don't lie. Over the course of only eight games, Hawkinson has 11 RBIs, 14 hits, 14 runs scored, three triples, and a .519 batting average as of this writing. She has dramatically improved in every offensive category from her freshman year by putting the ball in play, getting on base, and having a good eye at the plate. She has also shown steady progress defensively, and has seven assists for the season to go along with a double play. Her Mead Mavericks are off to their best start in five years with an 11-2 record and a roaring offense with Hawkinson as one of its leaders.

About 70 miles west of Lincoln, Neb., you will find the city of Aurora, home to the Aurora Huskies and the speedy Vivi Fahrnbruch. In only 13 games, Fahrnbruch has 20 stolen bases to lead the team as of this writing. Combined with her freshman campaign, she has 38 career stolen bases with plenty of games left to go. It does, of course, help that she gets on base quite often. So far in her sophomore season, she has a .591 on-base percentage, along with a .448 batting average, 24 runs scored, 13 hits, 10 RBIs, two doubles, three triples, and one home run. She also has a good eye at the plate and continues to limit her strikeouts. More importantly, she is the type of player who brings excitement to the team and to the fans in the stands.

Halfway through the season, Gianna Ostrander already has twice the number of hits she had as a freshman, twice the number of runs scored, over 10 times the number of RBIs, and three times the number of triples and home runs. It is safe to say that something has clicked. She has a .444 batting average as of this writing, has struck out only once in 36 at-bats, and leads the Hastings Tigers in multiple offensive categories. If that's not enough, she also has two wins in the circle and a solid 3.28 ERA with five strikeouts over 10 innings pitched. The work that she put in during the offseason has clearly paid off.

During the summer, Caroline Candler prepped for her sophomore season by spending time in the weight room and setting personal records. Halfway through the season, it is clear that her conditioning has made a difference. The rising infielder has a .420 batting average with 21 hits, 21 runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, and one triple as of this writing. A third of her hits have gone for extra bases, and she has a slugging percentage of .660. Defensively, she has 35 putouts so far, and can hold down a position anywhere in the infield. She is a good example of a player who is determined to always improve and be the best version of herself on the field.
