Uncommitted 2027 Top 50 Ranking

There's no shame in waiting to find the right fit. While many top players from the class of 2027 committed early in the recruiting process last fall, several are still looking for a college program, including some of the most talented players from across the United States.   College coaches are turning their attention to the class of 2028 as Sept. 1 draws nearer, but many programs would be happy for any of these 50 players to become late additions to their 2027 recruiting classes.   Here is Prep Softball's ranking of the top 50 uncommitted prospects in the high school graduating class of 2027, as of Aug. 13, 2026.    Ranked No. 1, Abbey Davis finished her junior high school season with a .557 batting average and a 1.301 OPS, stealing 23 bases. She has a steady left-handed bat, great speed, and excellent instincts in the outfield.     Ranked No. 2, Caroline Gatewood can beat out a slap hit or drive the ball to the fence in any part of the field. A speedy outfielder, she has a quick first step and can run down fly balls to make difficult catches look easy.     Ranked No. 3, Rylie Morris is a triple threat in the left-handed batter's box who can bunt, slap, and hit away, and she can motor around the bases like few of her peers. She will take an extra base on the slightest misplay and force the defense into mistakes.     Ranked No. 4, Logan Bester represented Team Puerto Rico on the WBSC stage in Japan. Another speedster, she uses her wheels on the basepaths and in the outfield and is not afraid to lay out to make a play.     Ranked No. 5, Karsyn Plaisance batted .552 as a high school junior with 21 doubles, and has power to all fields from the left side of the plate. She will spray line drives all over the field and can play as a catcher or corner infielder.     Ranked No. 6, Avery Madden is a versatile defender who can play either middle infield position or anywhere in the outfield. She is coming off a strong summer season and will be highly sought after as the fall approaches.     Ranked No. 7, Lakelin Hall has smooth swing mechanics and easy extra-base power. She is also a rangy outfielder who can overcome tough conditions to steal outs for her pitchers.     Ranked No. 8, Brielle Pavlovich is coming off a stellar summer, batting .462 with a home run at Scenic City Top 25 and .454 at P5 Patriot Games. She has a mechanically sound swing and impressive range as a center fielder.     Ranked No. 9, Keelyn Constancio can make inside-the-park home runs look like a routine occurrence, hitting two of them at one tournament in July. She can slap and hit for power, and is strong defensively in the outfield.     Ranked No. 10, Amaya Sigala helped her team to a top-five finish at the IDT in Colorado with her strong eye at the plate, letting the ball get deep and then generating opposite-field power. She can play either corner infield position and bails out her infield teammates with her stretches to snag throws at first base.     Ranked No. 11, Nola Tylke showed off her raw power at the preseason hit-a-thon derby in late July, sending the ball over the fence on 16 of her 30 swings. She homered six times in 62 at-bats over the summer and also has strong academic credentials, with a 4.5 GPA.     Ranked No. 12, Aubrey Garza did not compete this summer while recovering from a torn ACL, but is coming off an outstanding spring, helping her high school team win a district championship. She has prodigious power and can play anywhere defensively, including catcher, shortstop, and in right field.     Ranked No. 13 and the first true pitcher on this list, Bryanna Williams changes speeds and eye levels to always keep batters off balance. She can elevate with the rise ball and locate a changeup at the bottom of the zone, generating swings and misses or weak contact.     Ranked No. 14, Marleigh McDonald wrapped up a stellar season with her club team, batting .425 with a .524 on-base percentage in 58 games and stealing 24 bases without being caught. She can play any of the three outfield positions, and also carries a 4.11 GPA.     Ranked No. 15, Aubrey Reddell is a triple threat at the plate and extremely difficult to throw out, whether she's bunting, slapping, or hitting. She batted .444 with a triple and seven runs scored at the Top Gun Invitational and had another strong showing at the Independence Day Tournament in Colorado.     Ranked No. 16, Jordan Harms is a drop ball specialist in the pitcher's circle who generates ground balls at an astounding rate. She sits in the low 60s with her fastball and the low 50s with her changeup with excellent command of all her pitches.     Ranked No. 17, Madison Moeller is a left-handed power hitter who can hit to all fields and also lay down a well-placed bunt. She has the speed to stretch hits to extra bases and plays good defense in the outfield.     Ranked No. 18, Courtney Wheeler was among the top performers at Scenic City in Chattanooga, Tenn., batting better than .500 with two doubles and two triples. Her power-speed combo, along with her opposite field–hitting prowess, makes her one of the top players in her class from the Mid-Atlantic region.     Ranked No. 19, Molly Mayfield is a top catcher with a cannon of an arm, winning her school's defensive MVP award this past spring. Running on Mayfield is never a wise decision, as she routinely throws out runners with ease without even popping out of her crouch behind the plate.     Ranked No. 20, Emmi Harris can help any team become stronger up the middle, playing second base, shortstop, and in center field. She slashed .375/.500/.716 for her travel team this past season with six home runs, 30 runs scored, 19 walks, and 13 stolen bases.     Ranked No. 21, Lily Perez put on a show at Scenic City, hitting two home runs and two doubles, including an opposite-field three-run shot to help give her team some big insurance runs. She has gap-to-gap power, a steady glove, and a strong arm while primarily playing second base.     Ranked No. 22, Abby Griffis is a two-way player who just wrapped up a spectacular summer. She struck out 119 batters in 93 2/3 innings and held opponents to a .211 average, while hitting .330 with a .690 slugging percentage, 10 home runs, and 29 RBI in 100 at-bats.     Ranked No. 23, Pera Bauer batted .365 this summer with a .489 on-base percentage, using her outstanding bat control as a lefty to time up any pitcher she faced. She also has good speed and a strong outfield arm.     Ranked No. 24, Lauren DeRosa has impressive bat speed, runs well, and has a quick first step in the outfield, allowing her to track down fly balls and line drives. She started the IDT in Colorado with a bang, going 4-for-4 with a home run on the first day of the tournament.     Ranked No. 25, Isabella Warrington is a smooth defender at second base and a versatile offensive player who can hit line drives to the outfield and bunt for a hit. She hit a pair of home runs with a .333 average in Colorado and has established herself as one of the top 2027 recruits in the Northeast.     Ranked No. 26, Viktoria Czech has a powerful bat with a smooth uppercut swing and can hit the ball over the fence to any part of the field. She is among the top Chicago-area players in her class, slashing .489/.543/.944 in her junior season last spring.     Ranked No. 27, Jesslyn Roberts has a .443 batting average and a 1.164 OPS through three high school seasons. She can play just about anywhere her team needs her as an outfielder, catcher, or middle infielder.     Ranked No. 28, Allie Cox is a two-way player who shined in the circle at the Top Gun Invitational in Kansas, striking out 17 batters in 16 innings with a 2.10 ERA. She has plus off-speed and breaking pitches, and plays first base and in the outfield when she is not pitching.     Ranked No. 29, Ainsley Palmer hit .403 this summer and reached base at a .474 clip. She works plenty of walks, has a smooth inside-out swing, and can play in the middle infield or the outfield.     Ranked No. 30, Ashlyn Darrow is a tall right-hander who plays first base when she is not in the circle. At the high school level this past spring, she posted a 2.30 ERA in 38 innings while batting .567 with two homers.     Ranked No. 31, Harper MacDonald hit .453 with a 1.258 OPS in her junior season, drawing 17 walks while striking out just six times. She performed well at the IDT in Colorado this summer, launching a long home run to dead center field and driving in seven runs.     Ranked No. 32, Alexis Mujica is a standout defensive catcher with an impressive 1.71-second pop time to second base. She performed well against tough competition in Colorado and has worked on becoming more selective at the plate.     Ranked No. 33, Madison Schmitz batted .403 over the summer with 25 hits and six walks. That included a .500 showing at the Atlanta Legacy Invitational and three home runs in Colorado. She also carries a 4.67 GPA.     Ranked No. 34, Olivia Wolf can play anywhere on the infield and has a diverse offensive skill set, smacking line drives into the gaps and beating out bunt singles. She can reach pitches well out of the strike zone and still make solid contact.     Ranked No. 35, Brookelyn Duerfeldt is a catcher and third baseman who is one of the best power hitters in Southern California, home to some of the top talent in the country. Defensively, she has a strong, accurate arm and applies clean tags on runners trying to score while avoiding obstructing the plate.     Ranked No. 36, Izzy Bruzgis had an impressive showing in Colorado, striking out 22 batters in 18 innings. Her curveball and changeup are plus pitches, helping her rack up strikeouts for both her high school and club teams. Bruzgis is an outfielder when she is not in the circle.     Ranked No. 37, Pamela Perez's .284 summer batting average may not seem like much compared to some of her classmates, but she made up for it with her power, hitting eight home runs. She generates immense power without fully following through on her swing and helps her team defensively by playing both in the infield and outfield.     Ranked No. 38, Cece Laney has pitched in some big-game environments, getting frequent chases on her rise ball and spotting her changeup for called strikes. Her drop ball also often results in swings and misses in the dirt, and her curveball has late, sharp movement to the glove side.     Ranked No. 39, Ava Camacho has an easy, repeatable delivery, tunneling her rise ball and changeup throughout much of their respective paths to the plate. She sequences her pitches well and is coming off a strong summer, highlighted by her performance in Colorado at the IDT.     Ranked No. 40, Lailah Murray played in several prestigious tournaments this summer, showcasing her screwball, drop ball, and changeup. She is also a threat at the plate, with home run power and good bat-to-ball skills.     Ranked No. 41, Andrea Hodgkinson is a complete hitter, spraying the ball to all fields with plenty of power. She is just as solid in center field, ranging into the gaps to take away extra-base hits.     Ranked No. 42, Malia Hurst plays both corner infield spots and has a boatload of power at the plate. Sometimes a daredevil on the basepaths, Hurst can bait defenses into rushed throws and has the agility to elude tags.     Ranked No. 43, Cadence Ellenwood has all the tools an outfielder needs to be successful. She takes charge on fly balls in center and has a powerful arm that makes trying to tag up and advance a risky proposition. Combined with her skills at the plate, she is among the top players in her class from the Pacific Northwest.     Ranked No. 44, Hayley Stevens put up eye-popping numbers as a high school junior, hitting .608 with a 1.883 OPS, 30 walks, and just four strikeouts in 29 games. She has natural power from the left side of the plate and will drive pitches on the outer edge of the plate over the fence to the opposite field.     Ranked No. 45, Ella Zache is a third baseman and catcher who has emerged as a top 2027 recruit in the upper Midwest. She can zip the ball across the diamond from either of her positions and hits to either power alley for extra bases.     Ranked No. 46, Lara Jacquemart is a left-handed pitcher who plays first base and right field when she is not in the circle. She uses her breaking pitches to work her way back from behind in counts and her off-speed stuff to put hitters away.     Ranked No. 47, Willow Kellen took her talents from Orange County across the country this summer, showing off her left-handed power at the IDT with multiple home runs. She also delivered with strong performances at the LTG Showcase and the Triple Crown International Challenge, where she represented Team USA.     Ranked No. 48, Hi'ilei Gomes put up astonishing stats for her high school team last year, hitting .761 with 13 homers in 18 games—good for a 1.804 slugging percentage and 2.653 OPS. She has an excellent eye at the plate, forcing pitchers to either walk her or give her a pitch she can unload on.     Ranked No. 49, Brinley Jones is almost too versatile to even be called a two-way player. In addition to pitching, she plays first base and anywhere in the outfield. In one memorable moment over the summer, she snagged a line drive in the circle to start a triple play, then homered later in the game to spark a comeback win.     Ranked No. 50, Paityn Souza moved to Mississippi from California after her sophomore year, catching every inning for two seasons at Clovis High School and hitting .380. While she can also play third base, she is primarily a backstop, and caught all 38 games for her club team over the summer.
