Donning the blue and white uniform for the Lovett Lions, the sophomore has had an explosive season at the plate. Through 16 games as of this writing, 60 percent of her base hits have been for extra bases, including nine home runs and four doubles. She currently ranks second among all sophomores in Georgia in slugging percentage (1.463), second in home runs, and fifth in batting average (.610). Her athletic talent also extends to the hardwood for basketball. As a freshman, she led the varsity team in scoring this past season with 15.8 points per game, and also ranked first in field goal percentage, assists, free throws, and three-point percentage. If you're playing against her in either sport, good luck trying to catch her. She had 34 steals last season for the basketball team, and currently has 15 stolen bases for the softball team.

For the second straight season, Sophia Perez is putting up big numbers with the bat for the Pueblo Central Wildcats. Last year, she led the team in batting average, on-base percentage, and stolen bases, among many other categories. This season, she is once again the team leader in batting average (.516), on-base percentage (.612), and stolen bases (11) as of this writing. In her still young career, she already has racked up a total of 42 stolen bases, which is nearly one per game. As she goes, so does the Wildcat offense, which has outscored its opponents by over 100 runs so far this year. In addition to her speed on the base paths, she also has shown her acceleration on the track. Earlier this year, she placed first in the 100 meter at the La Junta Tiger Relays, and second in the 200 meter at the SCL Championships.

Grace McBride has delivered for the LaVille Lancers at the plate, in the circle, and on the soccer field. The sophomore had a phenomenal freshman season earlier this year for the softball team with a .586 batting average, 41 hits, 16 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, four doubles, and three triples. She finished ranked second among all freshmen in Indiana in batting average and fourth in on-base percentage. Additionally, she led the Lancers in nearly every offensive category, along with earned run average, and provided a win in the circle and 35 strikeouts. Defensively, she helped turn four double plays, had five assists, and posted 75 putouts. On the soccer field, she has two goals so far this season on just three shots on goal, making the most of her opportunities.

The Columbine Rebels are a mainstay in the postseason, having won it all in 2022, and are on track for another deep run this year. Their pitching is a big reason why; Addison Swenby leads the team with a 2.76 ERA, and is second in wins with a 7-1 record in the circle as of this writing. She has good control, keeps the ball in the yard, and has an excellent defense to back her up. The national average for fielding percentage is .877, and the Rebels are blowing that out of the water this season with a .957 fielding percentage. At 6'1", Swenby uses her height and strength to her advantage not just in the circle, but also in the track and field realm. Earlier this year, she placed third in shot put and fifth in discus at the City of Littleton Championships.

Addison Marker had more than just a terrific freshman season for the Maplewood Rockets this past spring. In fact, she was one of the best pitchers in Ohio. The right-hander finished her campaign with a 15-3 record, a 1.53 ERA, 209 strikeouts, and an opponent batting average of .179, with only one home run surrendered all season. The success didn't stop there; she also put up big-time numbers at the plate, including a .462 batting average, .557 on-base percentage, 34 RBI, 10 doubles, and five home runs. When she's not on the softball field, she stays busy playing volleyball. Last year as a freshman, she had nine service aces to go along with five kills. This year's team has already eclipsed the number of wins from last year, with Marker playing a pivotal role, including having a recent match point kill in five sets against in-state rival Chalker.

Speed can work wonders on the base paths and drive pitchers bonkers. However, it can also play a big role in basketball from fast-breaks to steals, and on the track from the 100 meter to the 400. Playing multiple sports provides athletes a chance to hone their athletic skills throughout the year.
