Sam Porter’s Georgia Impact Premier McBay team may have finished 2-2 at Atlanta Legacy, but that was enough to win its group. In a few weeks, Porter will begin her high school schedule with a 4A Cartersville team that finished 30-6 last season. She batted .667 with a pair of home runs and a 1.556 slugging percentage at Atlanta Legacy. One of those home runs was of the two-run variety, and it occurred against NC Challengers Premier Renzi 16U on Friday. She had a big game against Unity Johnson/Miller in a contest that Georgia Impact Premier McBay won by a final tally of 11-5. The three-run home run she had in the top of the second accounted for three of her five RBIs in that game. 

Sam Porter was on fire at the plate during the Scenic City fall tournament, batting an outstanding .643 and adding a home run to her stat line. Splitting time between the catcher position and in the outfield, Porter showed off her athleticism and adaptability, while also consistently delivering offensively. Her ability to produce in key moments made her one of the most reliable and impactful players of the weekend.

Cartersville being reclassified from 5A to 4A has yielded plenty of positive fortunes for the Hurricanes. The team won 24 games last season and set a school record with 30 wins this time around.
