The bulk of our post-Atlanta Legacy coverage has centered on stellar individual performances from the marquee travel softball event. But softball is a team sport and there were a number of squads that were tough outs all weekend.

This year's Atlanta Legacy Showcase also merged with the Alex Wilcox Invitational. Any club event during this time of year in Georgia can also be considered a tune-up for the high school season, considering it is a fall semester sport in the Peach State.

In addition to the many teams that made the trek to the Atlanta metropolitan area, we at Prep Softball were also on hand. Here are six teams that were among the hardest to defeat at Atlanta Legacy.

Indiana Gators Premier Clements

Five games. Five victories. That is what Indiana Gators Premier Clements got accomplished this past weekend at Atlanta Legacy.

The Hoosier State–based team wasted no time making its presence felt throughout the weekend, as it began play in Georgia with a 17-3 rout of Sarasota Heat Boesen 16U. That contest was defined by three-RBI performances from both catcher Devan Stewart and shortstop Amber Hurt.

Indiana Gators Premier Clements' perfect weekend was threatened on what turned out to be its final contest of Atlanta Legacy when it fell behind early by a score of 4-0 against Wow Factor National Marinakis 16U. By virtue of two placed on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second and five in the bottom of the third, Indiana Gators took a 7-4 lead and held on for a 7-6 victory.

Two more RBIs from Stewart and two more from Cali Clements were instrumental in the victory.

Tampa Mustangs Gleason 16U

Few teams throughout the entirety of the Atlanta Legacy field had a more emphatic presence than this one out of Florida. It will be one of the many teams heading to California for PGF Nationals, and its performance in Georgia is a sign it is ready to ball out in the Golden State.

Tampa Mustangs Gleason 16U outscored its four opponents by a combined total of 44-4. One of those matchups would result in a 14-0 rout of Impact Caymol Simmons 16U.

What defined that contest was a big game from a rising senior at third base – Emily Nunez. She had five RBIs in that game, including a two-run home run in the Tampa Mustangs Gleason half of the fifth inning.

Tampa Mustangs Gleason displayed it could win blowouts and close contests as well. Its final matchup of the Atlanta Legacy weekend was against D1Vision 16U Premier and concluded in a 5-2 victory in four frames. Three of those runs were courtesy of infielder Alyssa Martin, who crushed a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to give her team a 4-0 edge.

Unity Johnson/Miller

In three of Unity Johnson/Miller's five contests, the team held its competition to one run or less. One of those occasions occurred in Unity Johnson/Miller's first game of its Atlanta Legacy weekend.

That game resulted in an 8-1 victory for the team in four innings. Unity Johnson/Miller won the game despite not having an extra-base hit. All five hits for the team were singles, and the squad also drew six walks. Two of those hits were courtesy of Jazlynne Whittington.

Through four frames of Unity Johnson/Miller's final contest of the weekend against Empire State Huskies National Porcelli 16U, the team trailed 4-0. Unity Johnson/Miller scored five in their half of the fourth, including a grand slam from Tampa-commit Ashlyn Madine, which put her team ahead for good.

VA Glory National Christiansen/Bronowicz

VA Glory National 16U Christiansen/Bronowicz began its Atlanta Legacy weekend rough out the gate offensively. It mustered a 1-1 tie with a tough USA Prime National Halstead team. While the bats only managed three hits, the combination of rising sophomore Faith Colligan and rising junior Keira Bertoglio also held USA Prime National Halstead bats to only three hits.

The bats got stronger the further the showcase elapsed. One example of this was when VA Glory National Christiansen/Bronowicz put up 11 runs in a victory over Unity Bryan/Jones 27/28. Ella Robles, a rising junior right fielder, hit two home runs and collected three RBIs. VA Glory National Christiansen/Bronowicz also benefitted from a home run, a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs from Sophie Gee.

VA Glory National Christiansen/Bronowicz finished its Atlanta Legacy weekend with a 9-4 victory over Tampa Mustangs Alford 16U. Colligan was the centerpiece of her team's efforts at the plate with a double, a triple, and a run scored. She also pitched three innings and a third.

So Cal Athletics 2027 National McLemore

California is a long way from Georgia. So Cal Athletics 2027 National McLemore ensured that the cross-country trek to the Peach State was more than worth it, as the team departed from this year's Atlanta Legacy with a 4-0-1 showing.

The first of those wins was a 4-2 victory against Orion Hunter Elite National Barham 16U. Addison Russell had the big bat for So Cal Athletics 2027 National McLemore, as her game included a home run, a double, and a pair of runs driven in. Rising senior infielder Mallory Earp also chimed in with a pair of runs driven in. Alivia Harris also struck out five batters in three innings of work, while allowing only one earned run.

The final victory for So Cal Athletics 2027 National McLemore would see the team coast to a 12-1 win over Shamrocks Jenkins 16U. The team got three more innings of one-hit, four-strikeout ball from Harris. Anna Claire Cole's game included an inside-the-park home run and three RBIs. Nadia Rivers also plated three while scoring three of her own. One of her hits was a triple.

USA Prime National Halstead 2029/2030

It is one thing to finish a showcase event such as the Atlanta Legacy Showcase with a 4-0-1 showing. It is another thing to conclude said event having outscored opponents by a margin of 40-6, while playing up in a 16U division.

A pitcher's duel would actually account for the team's first matchup, as it concluded in a 1-1 tie with VA Glory National 16U Christiansen/Bronowicz. One wants Hartley Staton in the circle for a pitcher's duel – she threw five innings and a third of two-hit ball while only allowing one run and two walks, in addition to striking out eight batters.

It was a different story for the USA Prime National Halstead 2029/2030 attack in their 17-5 rout of Empire State Huskies National Porcelli/Locke 16U. Six players hit doubles – Ally Halstead, Ella Rackley, Maddie Davis, Mackenzie Fritsch, Mollie Anglin, and Maddie Grace Nelson. Halstead, Rackley, Davis, and Fritsch each hit two doubles apiece. Anglin and Halstead each drove in four runs. Fritsch and Nelson scored four apiece.

Team NC Yates-Benton 16U would be the final team to endure a USA Prime National Halstead offensive onslaught. The team earned a 7-0 victory to close out its time at Atlanta Legacy. Doubles from Fritsch and Nelson, as well as two RBIs courtesy of pitcher Hannah Hudson, were the nuclei of USA Prime National Halstead's efforts.
