Five 2029s Who Turn Speed Into Chaos On The Bases

Speed can change a game in an instant, and for these 2029 athletes, it's their biggest weapon.   Whether they're beating out infield singles, stealing bases with ease, or taking advantage of defensive miscues, these players thrive on creating chaos every time they step on the field. Their quickness, instincts, and relentless energy put constant pressure on opponents and often shift momentum when it matters most.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five young standouts who are already showing how speed and chaos go hand in hand on the softball field.    Makaila Lee is an exciting 2029 prospect, bringing elite speed, athleticism, and strength to every game she plays in. A true utility player, she can impact the game from multiple positions, whether she is locking down the infield or covering ground in the outfield. On the bases, her speed makes her a constant threat, forcing defenses to stay on edge. At the plate, Lee is dynamic, as she is able to slap, bunt, or drive the ball deep with her gap-to-gap power. With her defensive versatility and speed on the bases, Lee is already getting watched by college programs.     Kendrick Jobe is a dynamic offensive weapon who can hurt you in a lot of ways on the field. She can hit for power, play the short game, and is always a threat to steal bases, swiping 48 bags across the most recent fall, spring, and summer seasons. She hit .562 last fall with the 14U Munoz/Asia team and .390 this summer as the starting second baseman for a Munoz 16U team that finished in third place at PGF Premier Nationals. Now moving up to the 18U level, she'll keep sharpening her skills against some of the best competition in the country.     Alley Bolton, an outfielder from Eaton High School and Texas Glory Gold 14U, brings game-changing speed every time she steps on the field. Her ability to force rushed throws, pressure defenses, and turn routine plays into scoring chances makes her a constant threat for her team. Alley scored 33 runs this season, swiped 14 bases at a 93% success rate, and even reached on errors four times thanks to her hustle. Defensively, she's a true outfielder with the range and quick reads to run down balls that most players can't get to, making her an impact player on both sides of the game.     Lindy Ledden, a 2029 corner infielder from North Forsyth High School, is quickly proving herself to be a force at the plate and on the bases. She has a knack for shooting the gaps and turning hits into extra bases, often stretching doubles into triples with her hustle. Just as dangerous in the short game, Ledden can mix in a slap or bunt for a hit, keeping defenses on their toes, and again showcasing her quick first step and speed. As a freshman, she's off to a hot start, hitting .519 through 27 at-bats at the time of this writing and showing she can impact the game in multiple ways.     Sydney Hahn, a catcher in the class of 2029, combines exceptional power with impressive speed on the basepaths. She has an outstanding batting average of .443, along with 15 doubles and eight home runs. Once she reaches base, Hahn creates constant pressure for opposing defenses, scoring 43 runs in the 2025 season by consistently getting into scoring position and legging out extra-base hits. Her unique blend of strength and speed makes her a dynamic force in the lineup for her team and a significant challenge for the opposition.
