Earlier this summer, the Alabama native made a terrific barehanded play off of a bunt down the third base line. Not only did she have to sprint for the ball, but she also had to throw to first off balance, and she threw a perfect strike. Darby Howell also has a habit of coming through in the clutch. She was named the 2026 Most Valuable Softball Player for Lincoln High School, and was also the recipient of the Golden Shoe Award. In one season, she played junior high, junior varsity, and varsity softball. In addition to her pitching, she will also wow you with her bat. In her time with the junior varsity team, she had a .526 batting average with 20 hits, seven triples, 23 runs scored, 14 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases. She excels in multiple facets of the game, and has an exciting summer ahead.

One of the keys to Piper Morrissey's success, as she details on her social media, is her ability to work both sides of the plate. During one at-bat in particular, she first threw a drop ball on the outside corner for a strike. She then followed with a high and inside rise ball, forcing a defensive swing from the batter for strike two. Next, was a pitcher's pitch, high and out of the strike zone for ball one. And then she ended the at-bat with a nasty changeup at the knees, catching the hitter looking for strike three. The end result was four nearly perfect innings with 11 strikeouts. Even worse news for hitters is her velocity keeps on increasing. She reached a new personal record this spring, hitting 56 mph on her fastball. She has the stuff and she has the confidence.

It has been nothing but strikeouts so far for Kaitlyn Arlin this year in the circle. By May 5, she had already racked up 113 strikeouts for the spring season. At the Sliding Into Spring tournament that weekend, she pitched 10 innings with 16 strikeouts and only three walks allowed. The following month at the PGF 14U Qualifier, she again put up big numbers against elite hitters with 12 strikeouts over 12 innings pitched. Perhaps her best pitch is her rise, which of course, appears so tempting to the hitter, which makes it all the more dangerous. Her changeup, however, has the ability to lull hitters to sleep, and she can throw her curveball to both sides of the plate. When she is in control, she is tough to handle.

Softballs do indeed fly north of the border. However, when Khloe Baumann is in the circle, she tends to keep them in the ballpark. She recently hit a new personal record in velocity, hitting 51 mph earlier this summer. She has good mechanics as a result of hours of pitching drills behind the scenes, and is continuously working on getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Her conditioning, especially, is making an impact on the field, both in her hitting and fielding. She is a versatile defender and takes pride in her work ethic. She is also a multi-sport athlete, as well as a terrific student in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.

It pays to have a pitcher who thrives under pressure, and that's exactly what Aryanna Durruthy does. After falling behind in the count to a batter this spring, she followed with a heater up in the zone that the hitter could not touch. She then stuck with her guns and threw another fastball up near the shoulders for a swing and miss and the strikeout. Her skills on the field are being noticed, as she was recently invited to the 2026 Future Stars Showcase in August. She also brings her confidence to the plate, and will take advantage of any pitch in the zone by hitting a frozen rope to the gap. As she prepares for a big stage in August, any college coach would be wise to keep an eye on her.

By relying on their defenses and collecting a few strikeouts here and there, even the mightiest lineups can go down.
