It would be nearly impossible to get off to a better start than Prestley Mueller has for the Leigh Longhorns. Hailing from the Bay Area, Mueller has 19 hits in her first 29 at-bats as a high school freshman, good for a .655 batting average. In only eight games as of this writing, she already has 15 runs scored, nine RBIs, four doubles, three triples, and an otherworldly .697 on-base percentage. Her bat control stands out over everything else. She can simply poke the ball wherever she wants to on the field with authority, as if she were carrying a magic wand. Defensively, she has also shined. She has yet to make an error this season, has a quick pop time of 1.86, and has 20 putouts, along with two assists.

Staying in the Bay Area, Leah Uelese has been mashing the ball for the Granada Matadors. In her first game, she smacked two doubles and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Two days later, she went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs. As of this writing, she has hit safely in six of seven games, with five of the six being multi-hit games. She currently leads the team in home runs (1), hits (13), RBIs (8), slugging percentage (1.000), and triples (1). She has a simple approach at the plate, and a short, compact swing that carries a lot of power with it. Defensively, she is outstanding with a strong arm and pinpoint accuracy. She currently has 35 putouts in only seven games played, has turned a double play, and has only committed one error for a .973 fielding percentage. Granada is used to making the postseason, and with a balanced offense powered by Uelese, they could be in for a deep run.

You could say that Leah Grace Snellgrove likes hitting doubles. The Alabama native began playing varsity softball for the Dale County Warriors in 7th grade, and in 47 career games, she has hit 20 doubles. This season alone, as of this writing, she has already racked up nine doubles, along with three home runs and a triple. She leads the Warriors in every offensive category except RBIs, and ranks second among all freshmen in the state in batting average (.579). She has power to all fields, and when she makes contact, it tends to be a frozen rope. Behind the plate, she has a solid .966 fielding percentage and already has 19 career assists. She is also a supportive teammate and a team leader in the making.

The Braden River Pirates have a terrific offense to say the least. As of this writing, they have outscored their opponents by 73 runs, and have scored in the double digits in five of their nine games. Just as impressive, however, has been their pitching. And freshman Cooper Jones has had a hand in both of them. Around 45 miles south of Tampa, Jones has hit safely in six of the seven games she has played in for the Pirates, and had multi-hit performances in five of the six. She is among her team leaders in nearly every offensive category, and also leads the team in fielding percentage with a perfect 1.000 mark. Behind the plate, she is helping guide a rotation with a minuscule 1.83 ERA. To put it into perspective, that is nearly six points lower than the average team ERA in the nation. It has been a remarkable turnaround for the Pirates, who have already surpassed their win total from last season. And Cooper Jones has been a big force behind that surge.

Avery Keith has been nearly perfect for the Heritage Huskies in her freshman season. The North Carolina native is batting .520 at the plate with 13 hits, 14 RBIs, three doubles, one home run, a .556 on-base percentage, and all in only nine games. She plays an integral role in a roaring Huskies offense that has scored in the double digits in over half of their games, and is catching a superb pitching rotation with a 1.82 ERA. She has a quick pop time of under two seconds, has a perfect fielding percentage behind the plate, and has already compiled 61 putouts and two assists. Most importantly, she puts in the work behind the scenes, and it is showing with her performance on the softball field this year.
