Below, Prep Softball highlights five 2029 corner infielders who are dominating the high school season with power and elite defense.    Destiny Duff is an impressive athlete making a strong impact in her freshman season at Sunny Hills High School. She plays any infield position, but is often found at third base and second base. Known for her advanced range, quick reactions, and strong arm, Duff is a game-changer in the box, combining elite speed with powerful hits that keep defenses on edge. After an impressive travel season, hitting .402 with 107 runs and 98 stolen bases, she's elevated her game even further in high school ball, batting .542 with multiple extra-base hits. Her ability to impact the game in every aspect of it makes her a player to watch in the 2029 class.     Abby Brooks is a dynamic infielder who can succeed at both third base and shortstop, bringing a complete and dangerous skill set to the field. She showcased that during the fall season and has continued it into her freshman high school campaign. Brooks's athleticism in her footwork, excellent glove work, and confidence at third base make her stand out. At the plate, she brings power and the ability to do damage in every at-bat. Last fall, she hit .459, launching 9 home runs in 109 plate appearances. Brooks has maintained her role as a constant threat on both sides of the ball in high school play.     Jordyn Johnson is a strong 5'9" corner infielder who brings both physical presence and an advanced feel for the game. Johnson is known to be a reliable infielder at third and first base, serving as a vocal leader and communicator for her teams. Whether she is showcasing her quick but clean glove work, strong arm, or ability to pick throws, she helps anchor the infield. At the plate this fall, she led her team in multiple offensive categories, hitting .455. She consistently puts together quality at-bats and finds ways to get on base. A high softball IQ is another key part of Johnson's game, as she can read situations and understand what others miss.     Madisyn Garcia is a high-IQ corner infielder out of Corona Centennial High School who brings consistency, awareness, and discipline to every part of her game. She plays both third and first base with strong instincts, soft hands, and a reliable arm, making routine plays and minimizing errors. Her awareness is next-level, highlighted by a rare triple play she turned from the hot corner. Off the field, she stands out just as much. Her 4.33 GPA reflects the focus, work ethic, and well-roundedness she brings to her teams.     Brayden Dailey showed this fall that she can be a true difference-maker at the corners, and especially at first base, where she looked locked in for the entire high school season. She has strong defensive instincts, smooth glove work, and the ability to read plays well. She brings reliability and a strong athletic presence to every inning she plays. Offensively, Dailey enhances her impact with a balanced approach at the plate and the ability to drive the ball, while her speed on the bases allows her to capitalize on opportunities and keep pressure on defenses. Her all-around game and natural ability to be a lockdown defender at her position make her someone to keep an eye on in her class.
