It has been a few months since the 2025 high school softball season concluded in South Carolina with the annual crowning of state champions. While the next Palmetto State high school softball campaign is still a few months away, it is never too early to look ahead—or to look back.

There are a number of teams across the state whose rosters include a sizable amount of eighth and seventh graders. And a large portion of them waste no time making an impact for their respective teams.

We at Prep Softball released an earlier article spotlighting top 2029 prospects throughout South Carolina, and now we shift our focus to 2030 names.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five of the top 2030 prospects from South Carolina to watch over the next several years.

Milly Kate Prescott is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball as well as volleyball, alongside what she gets accomplished on the softball diamond. One would be hard-pressed to find a prospect in the Palmetto State who had more of a breakout seventh-grade campaign than Prescott. She played in 19 games in 2025 for SCISA 1A Holly Hill Academy. Prescott hits more for contact than she does for power. She had a .355 average with 21 RBIs last season. Her performance in 2025 also included three doubles and 33 runs scored. During her club softball schedule, she sports the uniform of Lady Lightning Gold.

We recently profiled [player_tooltip player_id='144205' first='Ella' last='Tweed'] as one of the most fearless 2030s in the circle, and she has more than earned that distinction. A name on the rise for 5A Division 2 Lucy Beckham, she made 17 appearances as a seventh grader for the Bengals and recorded 54 strikeouts. Tweed places plenty of emphasis on the speed of her pitches and reached a personal-best 63 miles per hour. At one point during the Palmetto Fall League, she threw six innings while only allowing three walks to 12 strikeouts. While her work in the circle is her bread and butter, Tweed is also working to become a force to be reckoned with at the plate as well.

Realignment marked a new beginning for one of the state's newest schools. Fountain Inn moved up from 3A to 4A and the Fury held their own, posting a record of 17-9. Ava Culbertson played in 12 of the Fury's games last season. She played for Carolina Elite on the club softball circuit and was recently invited to attend the Select 30 camp in January. Culbertson also received an invite over the summer to the 12U USSSA All American Games. She played for the Southeast Region at the Florida-based event and put together an impressive showing. Culbertson was 7-for-11 with eight runs driven in plus one walk.

[player_tooltip player_id='144773' first='Ellie' last='Yonce'] maintains an active athletic schedule between what she gets accomplished during the spring on the softball diamond and in the fall on the volleyball court. She was recently selected as part of a 14-girl roster to represent Athletics Gold Tamborra 2030 Orebaugh. Yonce got the opportunity to participate in nine games last season for SCISA 1A Wardlaw Academy. She made the most of her opportunity and then some. Yonce batted .438 with 14 singles, 13 runs scored and 11 RBIs. She also recently began giving cross country a try as well. Yonce managed a fair amount of plate appearances in that timespan as well, with 33 to be exact.

The best way to carry momentum into a club season is to win a state championship. Garrison Aiken experienced all of the championship euphoria, and then some, when her Byrnes Rebels prevailed over Summerville by a final tally of 9-8 to claim last season's 5A Division 1 state crown. Even more special for Aiken was that she drew a bases loaded walk-off walk to clinch state for her Rebels. Defensively, Aiken mostly plays in the infield but also spends time as a catcher. During the travel season, she wears the uniform of Impact Caymol 14U Premier. Aiken is a multi-sport athlete who also participates in volleyball.
