Garrison Aiken already has a signature moment in her high school softball career. As a seventh grader last spring, Aiken drew a walk-off walk — against one of the best pitchers in her state, South Carolina signee Ansley Bennett — to give her team a win in the state championship series. Aiken did not play much at the varsity level, but she certainly does with her club team, Impact Caymol 14U Premier. She played up at 16U for the PGF Cashionals in October, batting .629 and driving in six runs. Batting from the left side, Aiken has excellent bat control and track-star speed, taking extra bases with no hesitation and legging out stand-up triples. She has great range and a quick release in the infield, and she receives the ball well in order to tag out baserunners trying to steal.

The best way to carry momentum into a club season is to win a state championship. Garrison Aiken experienced all of the championship euphoria, and then some, when her Byrnes Rebels prevailed over Summerville by a final tally of 9-8 to claim last season’s 5A Division 1 state crown. Even more special for Aiken was that she drew a bases loaded walk-off walk to clinch state for her Rebels. Defensively, Aiken mostly plays in the infield but also spends time as a catcher. During the travel season, she wears the uniform of Impact Caymol 14U Premier. Aiken is a multi-sport athlete who also participates in volleyball.
