About Stella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My primary position is catcher, so I play with no fear and have no hesitation to sacrifice my body to make a play. I like to play fast and aggressively, but I am methodical in my approach to implementing these characteristics. I am also very loud, energetic, and lead by example.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my personality as friendly and outgoing. I tend to approach problems with an open mindset and try to stay positive to new ideas and perspectives. I value clear communication and strive to be empathetic toward others in both on and off the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently serving at our church, attending youth group, and am part of our high school show choir. I have also been on the school A honor roll.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through softball, I have developed teamwork skills by encouraging my teammates, keeping energy throughout the game, and leading by example. I take pride in setting a positive example through hard work, communication, and accountability. Outside of softball, I volunteer at my church, helping with youth activities.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my 13U travel season, I got into a very bad hitting slump. It was to the point where I'd be taken out of the lineup, which caused me to be devastated. After that season, I realized the reason I'd been in a slump was I hadn't been putting in the work. During our break, I dedicated so much time to becoming better, and it paid off. It caused me to keep working extra hard to achieve my goals.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that values both strong academics and a competitive softball program. I want to be a part of a team where players and coaches can push me to grow on and off the field.
