About Gemma

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength is my speed. I’m the fastest player on my team, and I use that to steal bases, take extra bases, and score a lot of runs. I’m always looking for ways to use my speed to help my team win.

What are you working to improve right now?

I’m working on increasing my hitting power and being more consistent at the plate. My goal is to make harder contact and drive the ball into the gaps so I can use my speed to take extra bases.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I’m looking for a program where I can grow as a player and a person, with coaches who challenge and support me. I want a team that feels like family, works hard, and competes to win, along with strong academics that prepare me for my future.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Outside of softball, I play basketball & flag football and take my schoolwork seriously. Balancing both sports and academics has taught me how to manage my time and stay committed.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I want to study nursing and pursue a career in healthcare. I’m already taking nursing classes, and I’m excited to keep learning and build a career where I can care for others and make a difference.

Gemma Christian recently concluded a school ball season with 7A North Forsyth where the Raiders went 23-11. As a middle infielder, Christian grasps the concept of fielding ground balls cleanly and preventing as many grounders as possible from reaching the outfield. It also means getting herself in the right spots to convert double plays. Christian also has no issues moving to her right to field ground balls with her backhand glove to make accurate throws to first, and the speed she displays as a baserunner will earn her extra bases. Following a 2026 season with North Forsyth where she batted .458, Christian’s next appearance on the diamond will be at the Veterans Showcase early next month.
