2030 Prospects Ready To Make An Impact This Fall

Sixbury has clearly proven her offensive toolkit, and this fall, she will move up an age group to join the Finesse 15U National Grimm team. Her impact goes beyond her plate appearances. In addition to extending innings for her 14U Finesse team, Sixbury quickly eliminates scoring threats off the bases to get her offense back in control of the game. At this stage in her athletic progression, the next critical step in her development will be consistently being tested against older, higher-tier competition. Once Ella Fruth makes contact with the ball, she's already anticipating at least a double, and if runners are on with a base to spare, she's taking it immediately. Being able to run the bases effectively so that it causes chaos for your opponent is an art, and Fruth is an artist. Pairing patient plate appearances, aggressive baserunning, and hitting with absolute authority, opposing pitchers and defenses should be proceeding with caution. Defensively, Fruth moves laterally with ease; she's extremely mobile and quick on her feet. The old saying goes "ball, base, backup"; her Fusion Premier team had a play this summer where the ball ricocheted off the third baseman, and had Fruth not already been anticipating it and going for the ball, it would have resulted in an error for her team. She's set when the pitch enters the strike zone and is always ready for the ball to come her way, which allows her to think about more than just the initial play. The decisions you make while playing the hot corner are instantaneous, and there's no room to second-guess yourself. Her slugging percentage increased significantly over the summer, as evidenced by her extra-base hits and seven home runs, with five of those home runs coming in one tournament. In addition to her offense, Fitzgerald was also aggressive behind the plate with pickoffs. Mental toughness and resilience are vital to having success at a high level, and Schlegel is proving hers early through her commitment to consistency and recovery. Schlegel has also announced that she is joining the IL Chill Gold 14U team this fall ball season.
