After throwing a perfect game early this summer, Caroline Sarnowski wasn’t satisfied; her 14U team moved up to play in a couple of 16U and 18U tournaments, where she dominated in the circle. Using a combination of her two-seam fastball, screwball, rise, and changeup that falls off the edge of the Earth, Sarnowski had only a combined 9 hits in 23 innings of work with 42 strikeouts. She’s able to keep batters guessing by elevating her riseball, then rotating between speed and spin inside and outside. This summer, Sarnowski took advantage of her plate opportunities, elevating the ball to the left- and right-field gaps, which also led to RBI opportunities for her team.
