About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as competitive, smart, and aggressive in all phases of the game. Behind the plate, I take pride in my receiving, framing, blocking, and overall game IQ. Offensively, I bring a strong, confident approach that allows me to make an impact with both consistency and power with a team-first mindset.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a Christian student-athlete who prioritizes my faith, my academics, and giving my best effort in everything I do. I am positive and bubbly, with a type-A personality who takes pride in the discipline balance multiple teams, weightlifting, nutrition, lessons, and bullpen work for strong pitcher-catcher relationships. My mentality is focused and competitive, but I have fun on the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Along with my softball FSHAA 2026 1A ALL-STATE honor, I am a nationally accomplished weightlifter. This includes a NATIONAL USA Weightlifting Bronze Medal in the clean and jerk, 2025 FSHAA District Champion, 2026 District Runner-Up, 2026 Regional 3rd place, and FSHAA 9th place at the State Championships as a 7th grader. My strength background directly supports my softball success.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I'm the type of catcher who always picks up the other team's bats after an at-bat. I am a strong communicator with my teammates on and off the field, lead by example, support my teammates, and stay focused under pressure. Competing in multiple sports has also taught me accountability, resilience, and how to represent my team and community with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was proving that I could mentally and physically compete at a high level at a young age. Balancing national travel tournament schedules, high-pressure games, and Varsity high school competition has required maturity, toughness, and confidence beyond my years. Those experiences have helped me grow into a more disciplined, composed, and resilient athlete.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to any and all opportunities, at all levels, to continue my academic and athletic career in a welcoming yet competitive environment.

Emily Martin is emerging as one of the more productive and physically advanced hitters in the class of 2031, already putting up strong numbers against varsity-level competition. In action, she’s hit .425 with a .465 on-base percentage, recording 17 hits, 21 RBIs, and 16 runs scored. She’s also shown power, totaling four home runs and ranking among the top players in Florida in that category. Offensively, Martin pairs that production with a consistent approach, while continuing to show an ability to impact games in key moments, which is reflected in her .727 start through recent tournament play. Her ability to drive in runs and generate extra-base power makes her a reliable presence in the lineup. Martin brings strength behind the plate, splitting time at catcher, while also contributing in the infield. Her physical tools stand out immediately, as she is a USA Olympic Weightlifting National Bronze Medalist in the clean and jerk.
