2031 Talent That's Ahead Of The Curve

In softball, talent shows up in different ways, as some players dominate at the plate, while others lock it down defensively. The ones who separate themselves early are the athletes who can do it all.   This class of 2031 is already turning heads with their ability to impact every part of the game, from timely hitting to game-changing defense and confident leadership skills. Their advanced skill sets and feel for the game put them ahead of the curve and make them a group worth watching as they continue to develop.   Below, Prep Softball highlights four players from the high school class of 2031 who are already ahead of the curve.    Kendall Browning is establishing herself as a high-performing 2031 prospect on the Indiana Magic Gold Futures – Esposito team, combining early offensive production with defensive versatility across multiple positions. Through the opening stretch of the season, Browning is hitting an impressive .727 through five games, showcasing the ability to make contact and contribute at the plate. That level of production reflects a strong start and an approach that is translating into results. Defensively, Browning brings flexibility with experience at shortstop and third base, along with additional reps in the outfield. Her ability to move across positions adds value within a competitive travel team and points to long-term development as either a left-side infielder or utility player. Her USSSA All-American selection highlights early national recognition and positions her among emerging players to follow in the region in her class.     Anna Lisicky has emerged as a dynamic player, making her impact felt all over the field as a true utility player. Whether she's contributing at the plate, locking things down defensively, or stepping into the circle, Lisicky has shown an advanced feel for the game and the ability to rise in key moments. Offensively, Lisicky has proven she can deliver when it matters most. She's recorded multiple extra-base hits in big situations, including a double off the fence to open a game and another clutch double to lead off the final inning in a tie. Her ability to come through in pressure situations highlights both her confidence and consistency at a young age. Defensively, her versatility stands out. Lisicky has made an impact, flashing her instincts during strong performances across the infield. In the circle, she adds another layer to her game with a dominant spring pitching debut, striking out all seven batters she faced.     Ellie Harrop is continuing to separate herself as one of the most physically advanced players in the class of 2031, combining power at the plate with standout defensive tools. Offensively, she's already producing impressive numbers, recording exit velocities in the mid-60s and consistently driving the ball for extra bases. Her ability to generate hard contact and impact the game with one swing makes her a clear middle-of-the-lineup presence. Her strength translates defensively as well. Harrop recently topped the positional throwing velocity leaderboard at the Blue Angels Scout Day, recording a 59 mph throw. That kind of measurable separates her early and adds another dimension to her defensive reliability. On a national level, Harrop has also earned recognition for her performance, being selected to the 2026 USA Softball All-American 12U Games. Competing against top talent in the country, she continues to prove she can hold her own and produce in high-level environments.     Emily Martin is emerging as one of the more productive and physically advanced hitters in the class of 2031, already putting up strong numbers against varsity-level competition. In action, she's hit .425 with a .465 on-base percentage, recording 17 hits, 21 RBIs, and 16 runs scored. She's also shown power, totaling four home runs and ranking among the top players in Florida in that category. Offensively, Martin pairs that production with a consistent approach, while continuing to show an ability to impact games in key moments, which is reflected in her .727 start through recent tournament play. Her ability to drive in runs and generate extra-base power makes her a reliable presence in the lineup. Martin brings strength behind the plate, splitting time at catcher, while also contributing in the infield. Her physical tools stand out immediately, as she is a USA Olympic Weightlifting National Bronze Medalist in the clean and jerk.
