The bulk of the states in this country will play their high school softball seasons in a few months. Among that laundry list of states that will soon play ball is Florida.

The Sunshine State is one where softball talent is plentiful. Whether one is located in the Panhandle, Central Florida or South Florida, one is sure to find top-tier softball talent that is poised to show out in future years at the college level.

Below, Prep Softball highlights six 2030 prospects to be on the lookout for in Florida.

An intriguing prospect out of Winter Haven, Mariana Dos Santos is quickly establishing a robust profile with Warriors Manza 14U and is looking to do the same with the Blue Devils when she begins high school play. In addition to what she gets accomplished in the circle, Dos Santos is also a middle infielder. At the USFA Monster Mash in Central Florida, Dos Santos tossed 10 innings, during which she did not allow a run and struck out 15 batters, while only allowing seven walks. She injured her foot at the beginning of the calendar year, but appears to be more dangerous than ever.

Aliyah Reeder-Gallway plays with a Tampa Mustangs Szabo 2029/2030 team that recently qualified for the Colorado Sparkler, the TC Nationals and the AFCS. Alongside what she does as a catcher, Reeder-Gallway also finds her footing as a utility player and right-handed pitcher. One of the invites that she participated in over the summer was the Backwards K Summer Showcase in Newberry. Reeder-Gallway hit .500 there with a pair of singles and a pair of walks. She and her team played up in the 16U division that weekend and went undefeated. Reeder-Gallway also made her presence known behind the plate, as she threw out six baserunners attempting to steal.

Makayla Pratt played in 17 games last season for 3A Trinity Christian as a seventh grader. In addition to being a part of the team's battery as a catcher, she will also find time at the hot corner that is third base. Last month, Pratt's team played its final tournament as the Nassau Tigers before becoming the EC Bullets Premier Todd. At that tournament in Kissimmee, Pratt batted .545 with four singles, a pair of doubles, a walk and three RBIs. Defensively, she threw out three baserunners attempting to steal. Pratt plays up in class in the 16U realm and is only just getting started making waves in both travel and school ball.

Elizabeth McFarland is another notable name at Trinity Christian. While thriving as a right-handed pitcher is what she primarily does on the field, she also thrives as an infielder at first base. She understands that playing at position three in the field means utilizing her length and athleticism to field throws that otherwise would be wild ones. McFarland proved over the summer that she is as much of a problem for opposing teams at the dish as she is from 43 feet away. She had a stretch during the summer when she batted a robust .600 over the course of three tournaments.

[player_tooltip player_id='146261' first='Zoe' last='Velazquez'] may call Florida home, but she plays travel ball for a Peach State–based travel team Georgia Impact Premier 11 Cleghorn. She sustained an injury back in May and recently returned to the diamond with her new team, for whom she toes the rubber. And this is not the first time she has played for a Georgia-based travel team. Velazquez previously wore the uniform of Atlanta Vipers 2011 Murphy. The rising star from St. Cloud was named the MVP of the USSSA All-American Games in back-to-back years, and fanned 289 batters during the spring and summer of the last calendar year. We at Prep Softball profiled her recently as a pitcher with poise beyond her years, and it is safe to say her name will continue to be mentioned as her playing career blossoms.

Back in September, [player_tooltip player_id='144435' first='Kolbie' last='Crook'] announced that she was among only a handful of girls from the Southeast to earn opportunities for the final tryout for the USA Softball 13U team. Back in October, she played up in class among 16U prospects at the Ray Seymour Invitational. Crook held her own against more experienced competition by batting .500 with an on-base percentage of .615, plus four walks and six stolen bases. Crook also recently clocked 67 miles per hour with her overhand throw. That throwing speed combined with accuracy will throw out many would-be baserunners and run scorers. The Celtics of 2A Trinity Catholic finished last season with a 22-9 record and earned a berth in the state semifinals. With Crook in Celtics green and gold, expect Trinity Catholic to continue its consistent winning ways in the years to come.

The bulk of the states in this country will play their high school softball seasons in a few months. Among that laundry list of states that will soon play ball is Florida.
