About Isabella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I utilize my speed in my defensive and offensive game. I have great reads and reaction in the outfield. I am not afraid to run into fences or jump over to help my team with outs. I love to push my range in the gaps with good angle. On offensive my hand eye and high contact percentage allows me to get on base and move people. I can slap with precision and hit for base hits.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am quiet by nature but loud in my play. I like to make every play that presents itself to me. I have hit for high percentage, and I love to compete. I am a team player who will do what the team needs to stay in games and win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in youth leadership at school and have been recognized for my role as a student/athlete leader. I have been recognized with Principal Honor Roll. I assist with Special Olympics at my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I enjoy giving back to the community that has supported me throughout the years. I volunteer at the F.O.E and Special Olympics. Playing sports I have understood and accepted the challenge of being a leader and its importance. I lead by my actions and believe that teams need to be all in together to accomplish goals.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The challenges I have faced is being smaller in stature. People thing that I am not dynamic and strong. I have proven that a small person can pack a fierce punch.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like the entire college experience. I would like a coaching staff that embraces a student/athlete for the entire package and has high expectations.

Isabella Espinoza, a 2026 New Mexico State University commit, is an impressive center fielder. Last summer, she maintained an average of .408 with an OPS of .905, and achieved a remarkable 90% success rate in stolen bases, showcasing her elite speed and smart base-running skills. Espinoza covers significant ground in the outfield, thanks to her quick first step. At the plate, she demonstrates discipline and versatility, as she is capable of slapping for power, executing bunts and soft slaps, and driving the ball. She does all of that while consistently advancing runners and applying pressure on opposing teams’ defenses.
