Quimby offers defensive versatility, playing shortstop and left field when she’s not pitching, and she fields her position well in the circle, reacting quickly to hard-hit liners back at her. A heads-up baserunner as well, she scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch over the summer, beating the return throw home after the catcher’s initial toss to the plate got away from the pitcher. Quimby is equally talented on the soccer field, earning first-team all-conference honors as a freshman last fall.
