Fall's Hidden Gems: Under-The-Radar Prospects Worth Knowing

While some standout softball recruits have already established themselves as names to know in their classes this fall, others are quietly putting together strong performances and making a case for more recognition. Below, Prep Softball highlights five hidden gems from the fall softball season who are under-the-radar prospects worth knowing. Claire Jarrett is a versatile 2029 prospect who competes for Five Star National 16U Rogers and Mt. Vernon High School in Indiana. Wearing No. 37 for her travel team, Jarrett has the ability to contribute in the circle, at first base, and in the outfield. Her experience at multiple positions on the diamond gives her opportunities to continue developing different aspects of her game as she progresses through her high school and travel ball careers. Jarrett is a young prospect to keep an eye on as she continues gaining experience against competitive opponents. Reagan Fisher is already building an impressive athletic resume despite being several years away from high school graduation. The Bryant, Arkansas native earned 2025 USA Softball Region 4 All-American honors and serves as an Easton Army Ambassador. A catcher and utility player for Top Gun National 14U SKIM, Fisher brings a multi-sport background to the diamond, also competing in volleyball. Away from competition, the Bryant High School student maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA, demonstrating her commitment to academics. Fisher has already established an early foundation to build upon throughout the remainder of her youth softball career. Sam Espiritu has built strong credentials as an outfielder and slapper in the 2028 class. The O'Fallon, Illinois, native competes for St. Louis Chaos 2010 National Gill and O'Fallon Township High School, bringing a left-handed short-game approach to the field offensively. A two-time USA Softball All-American, Espiritu helped her Chaos squad to a top 10 finish this year at the IDT. Espiritu has been equally impressive in the classroom, maintaining a 4.2 weighted GPA while continuing to make a name for herself on the softball field. Riley Merritt is an uncommitted 2027 prospect from Delaware who offers versatility across several positions on the diamond. Competing for Venom Athletics 18U Showcase and Polytech High School, Merritt is a right-handed pitcher and hitter who can also contribute at second base and in the outfield. Merritt also brings a strong academic background to the table, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning membership to the National Honor Society. With her experience and success at the 18U level, Merritt is a prospect worth getting to know in the 2027 class. Speed is a big part of Aly Vincze's game, and the 2030 outfielder from Davie, Florida brings a triple-threat offensive approach to the field. An outfielder for Top Gun National 14U Kim, Vincze has already put together a noteworthy resume that includes First-Team All-County honors, a 3A state championship, and involvement in USA Softball's High Performance Program (HPP). Her speed and versatility at the plate give her multiple ways to contribute offensively, while her experience in the outfield, and particularly in center field, adds to her defensive value. Vincze also maintains a 4.0 GPA.
