She hasn't had to sacrifice plate discipline to generate such a powerful swing, and that could partially be due to her being a pitcher and having an eye for balls and strikes from that point of view. Her combination of consistent barrel contact and the ability to drive the ball from foul line to foul line forces any opponent to plan accordingly when she's at the plate. This summer, she came up with clutch hits for her team on several occasions, proving no moment was too big for her. She not only plays hard but also has a great softball IQ in the field, and she demands stolen bases and takes them seemingly anytime she chooses, without fear. Due to her recent focus on slapping, Grossman continues to elevate herself as an offensive threat. While her fastball is currently topping out at 55 mph, she has an arsenal of pitches at her disposal to expand the zone and keep opposing hitters on their toes. Bilkie has shown a preference for crowding the plate to bait opposing teams into pitching her inside, which is a big mistake. Her hands are violent through the zone, and she does an excellent job of getting her lower half involved in her swing, allowing her to swing through extension even on inside pitches. Riley's athleticism in the field translates offensively when she's making opposing pitchers work, is absolutely relentless in a full-count situation with an expansive zone, and is a great leader, doing whatever she can to move her teammates into scoring position.
