2031 Prospects Who Made Their Presence Felt This Summer

Throughout showcases, tournaments, and club softball events around the country this summer, 2031 prospects consistently stood out on the diamond with their talent, competitiveness, and leadership skills. And though it is still early in their recruiting process, players from this class already have their sights set on competing at the college level in a handful of years.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five high school class of 2031 prospects who made their presence felt during the summer ball season.    Aliza Olbrys is a skilled 2031 prospect from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, who brings experience to the field as both a shortstop and a catcher. Olbrys plays club ball for NW Explosion Bollinger 15U and has been part of several championship-winning teams, helping her squad win the 2025 12U and 2026 14U national championships. Her strong play also earned her an invitation to the 2026 USA Softball High Performance Program National Selection event, further highlighting her potential as she continues to develop into a 2031 prospect to watch.     Kiley Potts is a 2031 prospect from Wagoner, Oklahoma, who brings versatility and athleticism to the diamond for Oklahoma Pure 30/31. Potts is also a standout player at Wagoner High School, where she continues to develop her game against strong competition at the high school level. A Cherokee Nation citizen, Potts brings talent and growing experience to the 2031 class as she continues to work toward establishing herself as a prospect to watch.     Riley Cherry is a talented and developing prospect in the 2031 class from Virginia. She brings speed, athleticism, and versatility to the softball field for Stars National Noerr and Lightridge High School. A center fielder and left-handed triple-threat hitter, Cherry has the tools to impact the game in myriad ways, but especially with her speed. Her strong play in summer ball earned her recognition as a 2026 USA Softball All-American, adding to her growing list of softball accomplishments.     Talisyn Melendez is an impressive prospect from Erie, Pennsylvania in the 2031 class. Playing club ball for Tennessee Mojo 2031 Uncapher-Simon, Melendez is a right-handed pitcher who also contributes at shortstop and in the outfield. She has the ability to impact the game in several ways, and she also excels in the classroom, carrying a 4.0 GPA at Seneca High School. With her athleticism and two-way potential, Melendez is a name to watch as she continues to develop her skill set.     Lyla Arnold has established herself as a versatile and intriguing player in the class of 2031. Arnold competes for Stars National Indiana 16U and brings experience as a middle infielder and utility player. A right-handed thrower and hitter, she consistently contributes to her squads in meaningful ways. Arnold's defensive versatility, athleticism, and ability to play defense at multiple spots on the field at a high level give her value on both sides of the ball. As she continues to gain experience and confidence, Arnold is a player with the tools to keep making an impressive impact and is one to watch in her class.
