2029 Prospects Built For The Bright Lights

Prospects who just finished their freshman year of high school are starting to gain an affinity for success in big moments. Great players realize when they can make their biggest impact, and true success is measured by delivering in key moments. Five players have set themselves apart in this regard, always showing up when their team needs them.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five players from the high school graduating class of 2029 who are built for the bright lights.    As the newly-crowned <a href="https://prepsoftball.com/national/player-rankings/2029-rankings/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepsoftball.com/national/player-rankings/2029-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">No. 2 player in the Prep Softball national rankings</a>, Madelyn Benzler carries high expectations for her performances both in the circle and at the plate. In a one-run game on July 4 against a great Athletics Mercado team, Benzler earned the pitching win and hit a home run to help her LTG Lions to a one-run win. A recent three-RBI game led her club team to a three-run win over Lady Magic Allen when she added another home run. Benzler recently attended camp at UCLA and is poised for a big fall season.     Aubrey McConnell is a name to watch in the future both offensively and defensively. In her high school season, McConnell hit .480 with 38 RBI and just two strikeouts in a First-Team All-Conference season. In her summer club campaign with Beverly Bandits, she was part of many big wins both in the lineup and behind the dish. McConnell recently recorded a throwing velocity of 71 miles per hour and a 1.60-second pop time as part of her defensive skill set at catcher. McConnell recently attended camp at Auburn, and more college interest will likely come as she continues her recruiting journey.     Jemma Lamb has both the power to take advantage of a big moment and the poise to perform at an elite level every at-bat. At the recent AFCS Nationals, Lamb hit two home runs and eight total extra-base hits while playing elite talent. She both maintained consistency with a .536 batting average and 1.713 OPS and had pop in her bat during important moments, knowing when the time was right to take advantage. Lamb recently earned an invite to camp at Iowa and will be on the radar of many elite college programs.     Emiry Jeane is an elite player in all facets of the game and able to help her teams in any situation. At the TFL Summer Cup, Jeane hit an impressive .625 with four stolen bases to always keep her Impact Gold squad in the game. While also being a great hitter and runner on the bases, Jeane takes pride in her defensive skills in center field, helping her pitchers keep runs off the board. Jeane was named to the Louisiana All-State Team by the region's coaches association for a great freshman season as well.     An impressive athlete who is laser-focused every time she steps up to the plate, Alex Wiatrek has all the makings of an elite hitter. She recently helped her Texas Bombers squad to a Patriot Games championship, hitting a home run in the tournament's championship game. She started the tournament with a grand slam on the first day, setting the tone for the weekend. Wiatrek recently attended camps at Florida and Duke, as she has an eye on the next level.
