The freshman has a .600 batting average with nine hits in 15 at-bats, including one double and one triple as of this writing. Her on-base percentage is a sky-high .760, with five HBPs, five walks, and no strikeouts. And when she naturally gets on base, she tends to steal quite often, as she has 10 stolen bases to lead her team. Defensively, she has been outstanding in the outfield with a perfect fielding percentage, four putouts in five total chances, one assist, and one double play turned. In only seven games, Gonzales has already shown why she needs to be in the starting lineup for every game.

It's easy to be enthralled by Reese Madsen. In her freshman year with the Thrall Tigers, the Texas native already has a season's worth of stats through 19 games. She has a .604 batting average, 32 hits, 31 runs scored, 26 RBIs, eight doubles, eight home runs, and three triples. She has more walks than she does strikeouts, nearly 60% of her hits for the season have gone for extra bases, and she leads the team in every statistical offensive category. She also has been nearly perfect in the outfield with 21 putouts in 25 total chances, three assists, only one error, and one double play turned. With plenty of games left in the season, the Tigers are set to steamroll over their run total from last season. If Madsen was looking for a breakthrough freshman season, she's found it.

In her first game as a Perry Puma, Ashlin Miller went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. She followed that up with three hits the next game, and then recorded three more hits the game after that, and then finally topped it all with a five-hit game. In total, she has 13 hits in 22 at-bats for a .591 batting average, along with 10 runs scored, and no strikeouts as of this writing. Defensively, she has also shined brightly with 10 putouts, six assists, and only one error. She came into her freshman season already on a hot streak following a breakout performance at the Alliance Toys for Joy Tournament in December, during which she racked up 13 hits and had a .722 batting average for her TN Mojo squad. You can depend on Miller to put the ball in play and be a productive lead-off hitter.

At 8-2, the West Boca Raton Bulls are off to their best start in five years. They have outscored their opponents by more than 50 runs, and freshman Lilly Larkin plays an integral role in their high-flying offense. The Florida native leads the team in batting average (.576), on-base percentage (.611), stolen bases (8), hits (19), triples (3), and is second in slugging percentage (.848) and third in RBIs (12) as of this writing. Defensively, she can play anywhere on the diamond, from the infield to the outfield, and has a strong arm to back her up. Case in point, she already has 15 assists in her freshman campaign, and has also turned a double play. She is fundamentally sound, and with her growing confidence, she is set for a big high school career.

About 40 miles east of Sacramento, you'll find Shingle Springs, Calif., home to the 9-0 Ponderosa Bruins. So far this season, the Bruins are a team with dominant pitching and an offense powered by the one-two punch of sophomore Kate McCartney and freshman Trinidey Fuss. As of this writing, Fuss has a .531 batting average with 17 hits, nine RBIs, two doubles, one triple, and an impressive .543 on-base percentage. She puts the work in behind the scenes and it's showing up in her performance. In the field, she has been perfect with 12 putouts in 12 total chances. She was named a 2024 USA All-American, currently leads her team in hits, and is on track for an outstanding overall freshman season.

From Arizona to Florida, the freshmen on this list have not only put up big numbers so far this high school season, but they have also become leaders who are dependable hitters in clutch situations and all-around ballers.
