Five 2028 Pitchers Shining This High School Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At this point, the 2026 high school softball season is in full swing in many states across the country. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the teams that have experienced success at this portion of the 2026 season, they have done so because of their ability to frustrate opposing hitters. Anna Kate Barber's right arm has put the Timberwolves in a great spot to continue their winning ways, as they are 8-2 as of this writing. Barber plays in a variety of sports, including track and swimming alongside what she gets accomplished on the softball diamond. She went 18-3 with an ERA of 1.88 in her freshman season with Chiles, and is 4-1 with a sub-one ERA this season. Miley "MK" McMullan has helped Orange Beach to an undefeated start to begin its 2026 campaign. She concluded last season with a 16-1 record, in addition to posting an ERA of 0.77. McMullan has made seven appearances so far and has won six of them, including a complete game. Her ERA as of now is 0.52. In addition to what she gets accomplished on the softball diamond, she also plays volleyball and basketball at the varsity level. As of now, 5A Mt. Pleasant is 9-6-1. A good number of those wins have come to fruition thanks to Terrell. She has made 11 appearances in the circle so far in 2026 and is 6-3 with an ERA of 2.44. One of those appearances was a perfect game that she threw against Edgewood. Eastern Alamance so far is 5-2 to start its 2026 season. Carley Boggs is 5-1 with an ERA of 2.24 in the seven appearances she's made for the Eagles. Boggs has allowed 11 earned runs and 14 walks to 28 strikeouts. A few days ago, Boggs contributed to an 11-1 six-inning run-rule victory over Person with eight strikeouts. Given that Evie Pickard has helped her Bulldogs to an 8-1 record at this point in the campaign, Brandon could be on its way to another 20-win year. Pickard first played at the varsity level as an eighth grader, and her positive development has happened as she has gained more experience. She has made five appearances for the Bulldogs this season and has won all five, in addition to posting a 2.31 ERA. Pickard can also play defensively in the outfield and at first base, showing her versatility and willingness to play wherever her team needs her most. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
