The class of 2029 is already turning heads. With pitchers pushing elite velocity, sluggers changing games with one swing, and athletes who thrive on the biggest stages, this group is loaded with future stars.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five 2029 college softball prospects who could climb all the way to No. 1 in their class someday.

Every team needs that player who raises the energy the moment she steps on the field, and for the Bolts, that's Chloe Wade. More than just a talented hitter with big-time power, Wade is the kind of competitor who makes everyone around her better. Her coaches and teammates lean on her leadership and team-first mentality, knowing she'll bring relentless effort whether it's at practice or on the biggest stage. At PGF Nationals in California, she helped push the Bolts all the way to a third-place finish, with their run ending in a heartbreaker—an extra-inning, one-run loss to the eventual champions. Wade's mix of power at the plate and presence in the dugout makes her one of the 2029s to watch.

Trinity Hargrett has the kind of all-around game that makes scouts stop and take notice. Though she shines in the middle infield, her athleticism and versatility allow her to shift seamlessly to other positions without missing a beat. At the plate, she combines gap-to-gap consistency with the ability to drive the ball for power, making her a threat in any lineup spot. Her speed turns routine singles into extra bases and keeps pressure on defenses, while her arm strength and defensive range give her the tools to control the field. What truly elevates Hargrett is her feel for the game—her instincts and IQ consistently put her in the right place at the right time. This summer, she cemented her status as one of the top 2029s by leading her team to the AFCS Elite 8 in Tier l. She's the type of player who doesn't just play in big moments—she thrives in them.

Few players in the 2029 class have generated as much buzz as Devaeh Crawford—and for good reason. Patrolling center field with elite range and confidence, she already looks the part of a future star. As just an eighth grader, she was suiting up for the OC Batbusters 18U squad, taking the field against some of the top competition in the country at the TCS SoCal Brashear Summer Invitational and four other national-level tournaments. And she didn't just blend in—she thrived. Crawford hit an eye-popping .571 at the SoCal event and later delivered the walk-off hit to capture the IDT championship. Coaches rave about her work ethic and relentless drive to refine her game, and her ability to shine against older, more experienced players underscores just how high her ceiling truly is. Simply put, Crawford isn't waiting her turn—she's already making her case as one of the best young outfielders in the nation.

Dominant, disciplined, and determined—Rylee Swilley checks every box you'd want in a future ace. Her numbers speak volumes: 65 innings pitched, 11 wins without a single loss, 78 strikeouts, and a stingy 1.29 ERA with opponents hitting just .183 against her. But it's how she gets those results that sets her apart. Swilley's mechanics are fueled by balance and explosive lower-body drive, allowing her to pair velocity with pinpoint command. She thrives under pressure, attacking hitters with fearless poise and refusing to back down in big-game situations. Behind the success is tireless preparation—speed work, agility drills, and countless hours perfecting her craft. That dedication shows up every time she steps into the circle. She's not just one of the most fearless young arms in her class—she's a leader in every sense of the word.

Few 2029s can impact a game the way Alivia Ramon does—both in the circle and at the plate. A true two-way force, she logged 117.2 innings with a 1.30 ERA, 100 strikeouts, and a 1.1 WHIP, while also blasting 27 home runs with a .398 batting average and .985 slugging percentage. In the circle, Ramon pairs power with poise, recently topping out at 69 mph to rank among the hardest throwers in her class. Her dedication to building strength through long toss and conditioning shows in her dominance on the national stage—most notably at the Colorado Sparkler, where she allowed just three earned runs in 18.1 innings without giving up a single home run. At the plate, her power is just as intimidating, with six home runs between the Sparkler and Patriot Games. Ramon's rare blend of velocity, hitting ability, and relentless work ethic make her one of the most complete and competitive players in the 2029 class.

The class of 2029 is already turning heads. With pitchers pushing elite velocity, sluggers changing games with one swing, and athletes who thrive on the biggest stages, this group is loaded with future stars.
