They may not be nationally known yet, but their talent, hustle, and determination are turning heads.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five softball players who are future stars and are on their way to national recognition.    Going into her junior year, Ava Ruckle is quickly becoming one of the most feared hitters in Pennsylvania. After a solid freshman campaign, during which she batted .404, she exploded in her sophomore season with a jaw-dropping .731 average in just 52 at-bats across 18 varsity games. Her progression at the plate isn't just impressive, it's elite. In the 2024-2025 season alone, Ruckle totaled 38 hits, collected 34 RBIs, and added power with seven doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. Her ability to blend high-contact hitting with serious pop makes her a true offensive threat. Coaches looking for clutch production and fast development should be paying attention. With two more varsity seasons ahead of her and a relentless work ethic, Ruckle's ceiling is sky-high. Toryn Fulton is coming off a senior season that proved she's ready for the national stage. Primarily an outfielder, Fulton anchored her team's defense with a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage. She recorded 29 putouts and turned six double plays, demonstrating elite instincts and the ability to change games with her glove. Her speed was equally dangerous, creating constant pressure on opponents. In just 13 games, Fulton stole 25 bases, showcasing her quickness and ability to manufacture runs. That same aggressiveness carried into the batter's box, where she delivered one of the most productive seasons of her career. Fulton batted .564 in 53 plate appearances, collecting 22 hits, including six doubles, a triple, and four home runs. Her combination of speed, power, and defensive reliability makes her one of the most complete players in her class. College-ready and highly competitive, Fulton is poised to be an immediate difference-maker at the next level. Closing out her senior year at Pine-Richland High School, Henne was named the 6A Player of the Year after one of the most dominant seasons in school history. Her bat was electric, finishing the year with a .583 batting average and an eye-popping 1.400 slugging percentage. Henne collected 35 hits, producing 35 RBIs and 13 home runs while posting an incredible OPS of 2.084. Her 13 homers set a new Pine-Richland single-season record, cementing her legacy at the plate. Even more impressive, she didn't strike out once all season. With her unmatched combination of power, plate discipline, and consistency, Henne has the tools to excel at the next level. There's no question she'll carry her dominant presence into her collegiate career at Pittsburgh and make an immediate impact.     Entering her junior year, Sydney Gonglik is already proving she can command the game from the circle. In just two seasons, she's thrown 162.1 innings and posted an exceptional 1.12 ERA, allowing only 26 earned runs in that span. Her 20-5 record shows her reliability, but the strikeout numbers reveal her dominance with 343 total strikeouts in just two years. Sydney is also dangerous at the plate. With a career batting average of .631, she's collected 77 hits and 56 RBIs. Her power is undeniable, tallying 17 home runs, 12 triples, and 16 doubles already in her young career. With two full high school seasons still ahead, Sydney's potential is only beginning to show. Her combination of elite pitching, consistent offensive production, and competitive drive makes her one of the most exciting players to watch as she continues to elevate her game. Her high school team finished 18-2, fueled by an 18-game winning streak, and Bratton was a major reason why. She dominated in the circle, racking up 168 strikeouts and posting a remarkable 1.001 ERA. Opponents struggled mightily against her, managing just a .094 batting average. Bratton's fastball already tops out at 62.5 mph, and her deep arsenal, which includes a changeup, drop, rise, and screwball, keeps hitters guessing. With three full seasons still ahead of her, she's only beginning to scratch the surface of her potential. College coaches are sure to start taking notice of Bratton's talent, drive, and ability to overpower hitters.
