Developing that true, raw power at a young age is incredibly beneficial to someone trying to boost their prospect status.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five young sluggers with big-time pop in their bats.    Ainsley Morvan stands at just 5-foot-3, but she packs an incredible punch at the plate. She finished this year's varsity slate with 21 home runs, ranking among the top players in the state of Louisiana. She also collected 18 doubles and legged out 14 triples on her way to a 2.211 OPS. That's the kind of bat any high school or travel ball team is going to put right in the middle of their lineup and feel incredibly good about. Ainsley is the perfect example of a player using incredible mechanics and a strong eye to help coincide with a strong base, with all of that coming together to make her one of the most prolific power hitters in her region.     [player_tooltip player_id='101896' first='Joley' last='Bennett'] has been terrorizing opposing teams in the Southeast for the last three years. She made it to D'Arbonne Woods Charter's varsity squad as a seventh grader and hit 16 home runs in 36 games. In her 96-game career—all before her sophomore year of high school—Joley has compiled 44 home runs, 31 doubles and a staggering 152 RBI. She swings with controlled violence, exploding on the ball with an incredibly powerful swing spurred by a quickly rotating lower half. Joley put herself into a statewide conversation as a freshman, and there's so much more there to tap into.     Hope Gaudio is an absolute hitting machine. Through two varsity seasons at Mansfield Legacy, she's compiled 127 hits en route to a .588 batting average. Out of those hits, 32 are home runs and 28 of them are doubles. She's already gotten herself several accolades from high school ball, and she gets to keep things rolling for two more seasons. The ball jumps right off her bat because she has one of the most beautiful swings of any high school hitter out there. Hope is an established power threat with plenty more big moments to come.     What's so impressive about Taegan Lermann's power-hitting profile is that she turned herself into a really strong pitching option this year. It's possible that she'll be on future lists as a top pitcher. For now, we're going to gush over someone who hit 17 homers and 17 other extra-base hits last season. Taegan has a ferocious bat that often finds the ball with the sweet spot. She has also showcased power to all fields, which is a terrifying reality for opposing pitchers.     It's hard to have a list like this and not include New Mexico's home run queen. As an eighth grader, Malie Satete tied the state's single-season home run record with 20 bombs. That was over a year ago, and she followed that performance up this high school season by winning the Gatorade Softball Player of the Year award in New Mexico, and officially setting the state's new home run record with 23 blasts. She is a can't-miss prospect in the class of 2028, and her stock will likely continue to rise as her playing career progresses.
