Five 2028 Prospects With A “Pro” Approach To The Game

Being able to jump right into the varsity level and succeed takes a special type of player. Making the move for the first time can be daunting, and so too can breaking into a lineup full of established high school players. For some, they handle the adversity with ease, and having a professional approach helps extend their playing time in the biggest moments.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five members of the class of 2028 who impressed this spring and showcased a professional approach to the game.    Few players showcase so much potential and talent that they're able to break onto the varsity roster before even reaching the ninth grade. Evelyn Julieano is exactly that type of player. Beginning her varsity journey in the seventh grade, Evelyn just surpassed 100 career hits and finished a tremendous season with one of the best batting averages in the country (.765). She led her team in on-base percentage, slugging, OPS, singles, home runs and RBIs as an incredible hitter, all while posting an 11-0 record with 71 strikeouts and a 2.40 ERA in the circle. That type of athlete is hard to find, and Evelyn has quickly become a seasoned varsity and travel ball player who should be on recruiting boards across the country.     After just one season at Fairfield, Karli Robinson cemented herself as one of the budding stars in California. The Fairfield product went a perfect 6-0 this year with a 2.51 ERA, while posting a 104-16 strikeout-to-walk ratio. She has a pro arsenal already and command that many college pitchers would yearn for. Last month, she threw a no-hitter, striking out 12 batters, all while going 5-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, a homer and four RBI. Karli is a dynamic athlete with incredible potential as a two-way player, compiling hit after hit at the plate and striking out batter after batter in the circle.     Kassandra Moreno is already known across the state of Texas. She was up to be the state's best performing freshman for 2025 after posting an eye-popping .780 batting average with nine doubles, six triples and 30 RBI. All year, she was retired eight fewer times than the amount of times she drew a walk. That's an absurd command of the strike zone coupled with a talented ability to put the ball in play. Kassandra ensured that she was in the lineup from the jump, and continued to produce when she was moved around the field.     Jeovanna Carter was named by Prep Softball as a freshman breakout star earlier this year and was up to be named Florida's top first-year player. She struck out a whopping 335 batters in 156.2 innings while walking just 24, flashing a nearly unhittable pitch mix and poise in the circle. Her strikeouts, microscopic batting average against and 1.70 ERA ranked near the top in the state of Florida and nationwide. She's in for a breakout summer after one of the best high school seasons in recent memory.     Aaliyah Medina is yet another player who found her way onto a list to be named one of the top players in her state. The California outfielder simply gets on base. She's a two-sport athlete who is also a tremendous basketball player, with that athleticism translating perfectly to the softball field. In her first year at St. Pius X-St. Matthais Academy, she batted .740 with 42 RBI, 13 doubles and 10 home runs. The slap hitter struck out just three times in 56 plate appearances. Her speed on the base paths translates well to the next level with her ability to get on base as a leadoff hitter. That poise is hard to find in first-year varsity players, but Aaliyah possesses it, and it translated into her being one of the best freshmen players in the country.
