Fastest-Rising 2027 Players Since Fall Ball

The 2027 high school softball recruiting class is gaining momentum. Since fall ball, many of these athletes have significantly improved their performances, dominating the field, racking up impressive stats, and gaining attention from college coaches nationwide.   If you're not familiar with their names yet, now is the time to get introduced to these rising softball stars.    Kaimana Coleman, a catcher from Sage Creek High School, may be one of the most consistent and high-performing athletes in her age group. With a GPA of 4.2, she demonstrates the same strong work ethic in the classroom that she applies behind the plate. Ranked #14 in the Prep Softball Top 100 for the 2027 class, Coleman has been impressive since the fall, racking up 134 hits and achieving a .425 batting average with only four strikeouts in 289 at-bats. She maintained her momentum through the high school season, finishing with a .500 batting average, 31 RBIs, and four home runs. Her exceptional bat-to-ball skills, leadership qualities behind the plate, and her overall presence on the field make her a standout to keep watching this summer.     Joline "Joey" Qualteri is a talented right-handed pitcher from Ponderosa High School and the Colorado Batbusters 16U National team. She is known for her fierce competitiveness and dominance in the circle. Qualteri consistently throws in the upper 60s, mixing speeds with her pitches to keep batters off balance. Last season, she finished with a 2.41 ERA and recorded 157 strikeouts in 146 innings pitched. In addition to her pitching skills, Qualteri also showcases her power at the plate. Off the field, she impresses with academic achievements as she maintains a 4.0 GPA. Joey Qualteri is ready to continue her success and hard work throughout the summer season and beyond.     Maia Contreras is a right-handed pitcher who has made a significant impact on her EC Bullets and high school team at Episcopal Academy. During her 2025 high school season, she pitched 78.1 innings, recorded 74 strikeouts, and achieved an impressive 0.89 ERA. Contreras achieved six shutouts and two no-hitters, earning First-Team All-Inter-AC honors. These impressive statistics showcase her exceptional spin and skill in the pitching circle, as well as her confidence and command. Contreras blends her talent with a confident and energetic style, showcasing her power while also motivating her team. Off the field, she showcases her dedication as a student by maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Maia Contreras's passion in the circle will be exciting to watch this summer and beyond.     Olivia Ricciardi is an outstanding left-handed pitcher who attends Tampa Catholic High School. She has an impressive 4.0 GPA and excels both on the field and in the classroom. Competing for the New Jersey Intensity KOD Premier squad, Ricciardi carried her confidence from fall ball into the high school season, achieving an exceptional 0.99 ERA and striking out 132 batters in 112.2 innings during her 2025 high school season. She was named the team's Most Valuable Player and recognized as a PGF All-American Futures finalist. She effectively spins the ball with all her pitches, skillfully moving it to both sides of the plate. Known for her fierce competitiveness and team-first mentality, Ricciardi consistently finds ways to contribute to her teams' successes.     Caroline Duncan is an exceptional player from The King's Academy and the EC Bullets, known as an elite right-handed pitcher in the 2027 class. She has a 3.9 GPA and a strong work ethic. During her impressive high school season, she recorded 112 strikeouts in 105 innings, boasting a 2.10 ERA and a .237 opponent batting average. At the plate, she had an impressive batting average of .373, with a .471 on-base percentage, driving in 17 runs with 17 singles, four doubles, and one home run, showcasing her strength as a contact hitter. A true dual threat, Duncan consistently displays poise, power, and reliability every time she steps onto the field. Caroline Duncan is ready to continue to spin the ball this summer and showcase her ability to compete at a high level.     Gianna Willes is an outstanding shortstop from Livermore High School, where she maintains an impressive 4.0 GPA alongside her academic commitments. As a key player for the Extreme 16U-Rios team, Willes showcases her exceptional athleticism on the field. Defensively, as a shortstop, she exhibits excellent range, smooth glove work, and a strong arm. She demonstrates confident and vocal leadership as a shortstop, effectively communicating with her teammates throughout the game. She has great power, often driving the ball deep into the outfield, making her an asset with runners on base. Willes's dynamic presence on the field makes her a player to watch this summer.      Reese Marcel is an outstanding athlete, gaining recognition on the Top Gun 16U National team. She attends Houma Christian School and boasts a 4.3 GPA, reflecting her dedication to academics. Marcel's exceptional defensive skills are particularly noteworthy. Her strong arm allows her to make precise throws from her position in the middle infield, and her quick transfer and glove work are top skills as well. At the plate, she combines her size and power with a deep understanding of the game. She consistently finds ways to get on base and utilizes her speed effectively, with a home-to-first time of just 2.6 seconds. After a successful fall and high school season, Reese Marcel has clearly established her reputation as a player to watch in the class of 2027.     Isabella Wuelfing is an outfielder from Marlboro High School and plays for the New Jersey Intensity KOD Premier team. In the classroom, she maintains a 4.2 GPA and has been on the honor roll for seven consecutive marking periods. She shows the same dedication to her studies as she does on the field. On the field, Wuelfing excels at covering ground in the outfield, using her speed to track down any ball and her athleticism to make diving catches look effortless. This season, she recorded five doubles, seven triples, and two home runs, demonstrating her power and speed. Isabella Wuelfing will continue to motivate her teammates and showcase her athleticism this summer.     Brooklynn Hagerty is a right-handed pitcher for Logansport High School and the Top Gun 16U National team. In the classroom, Hagerty boasts a 3.93 GPA, showcasing her dedication as a student-athlete. She enters the pitching circle with confidence and a strong work ethic, as she is ready to take on any challenge. As a right-handed pitcher, Hagerty's repertoire includes heavy downward movement, a curve, a deceptive changeup, and a recently added riseball. During her high school season, she pitched a perfect game, striking out 14 of the 15 batters she faced and demonstrating her ability to dominate the competition. We expect Brooklynn Hagerty's hard work and success to continue this summer as she takes the circle for her Top Gun team.     Sienna Rios is a catcher at Moreau Catholic High School, where she maintains a GPA of 3.6. She is quickly becoming one of Northern California's top prospects for her position. Currently, she plays club ball for the Extreme 16U-Rios team, for whom she is a key player. Rios is known for her impressive 1.8-second pop time and exceptional softball IQ on defense. Not only is her pop time quick, but she also frequently showcases her arm strength and athleticism behind the plate. She has a powerful and consistent bat that has attracted interest from several Division I programs. Her composure, strength, and leadership qualities continue to make her a standout player in the 2027 class.
