One of the the best high school pitchers in the country is meticulous, detail-oriented and dedicated to the process of improving every day. That's why she was able to post a microscopic 0.42 ERA with 109 strikeouts in 49 innings along with a staggering .611 batting average. It's why she's Maine's best player with a laundry list of accolades in just two high school seasons. She has a pro approach to softball thanks to an incredible work ethic and the ability to perform on the travel ball circuit two years above her current age group. She holds her own in the circle, striking out 219 batters while batting .532 at the plate with 14 home runs, and helped Frenchtown win its 13th state championship. Then she just got better. The infielder led her team in nearly every statistical category, finishing her sophomore year with a .762 batting average, including three doubles, 10 home runs and 33 RBI, while also swiping 41 bags. These staggering numbers have turned her into one of the best prospects in the metro region. But she's also taken the next step and grown as one of the leaders on her team, even as an underclassman. That's largely due to the fact that she struck out 184 batters in 98 innings this past season and only walked 37 batters. Her 0.93 ERA ranked as one of the best ERA marks among qualified high school pitchers, and her impressive arsenal—along with a lanky 5-foot-11 frame—make her nearly unhittable and a menacing presence in the circle. She's been on all-star teams with All American Fastpitch and USA Softball All-American Games as well. But for Hannah DeMarcus, Prep Softball's 2025 National Player of the Year and someone who broke onto a state champion team this year, it wasn't even a challenge. Pace graduated their one-two punch in the circle, then saw Hannah strike out 364 batters, while also working a 0.33 ERA. Not everyone can step into that role and perform at All-American levels, but Hannah's poise and self-confidence allowed her to trust her dynamic stuff and excel in the circle. Now she and Pace are set up for the next two years for incredible levels of success, thanks to her ace status on the team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
