Top 2028 Prospects To Watch In New York

The high school softball season in New York is now in full swing, and players across the Empire State are already standing out, as teams begin to separate themselves in the standings.   For the class of 2028, a big season has started, as players make their first impressions at the varsity level and demonstrate their skills so they can set themselves up well down the stretch.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five of the top prospects from New York in the high school graduating class of 2028.    Hannah Kenney has already demonstrated her ability to perform at a high level in travel softball over the last three years. She's performed well in various showcases and top tournaments, and it looks like the dazzling start to her high school softball career is only a sign of things to come. Hannah possesses one of the most mature swings in her area and generates tremendous bat speed with a straight-to-contact approach to hitting. Her bat stays in the zone long enough to have power to all parts of the field, and she puts the ball in play at a tremendous rate. Up the middle, she possesses a vacuum-like glove and the agility to one day take over shortstop for any team she ends up playing for.     [player_tooltip player_id='107639' first='Alyssa' last='Tinucci'] is yet another versatile class of 2028 softball player who has seen incredible success in top-level tournaments and showcases. After her last summer season, Alyssa, graded out well and put together strong performances at the plate. She mainly spends her time at second base and shortstop, but has the range and ability to hold it down in center field when needed. That type of fielding prowess will help Alyssa get onto a varsity roster quickly, and once she's there, a strong bat with few strikeouts will help stake her claim as one of MacArthur's top hitters.     Clarkstown South is tremendously excited to add Eama Rosario to its varsity roster, and if her recent performances in travel softball are any indication, she is set to have a decorated high school career. She's one of the rare players who can start at every outfield position and complete the job with ease. She's also a powerful hitter who has played up in age during her travel softball career for the last couple seasons. Last year, she placed first in four different statistics at the USA Elite Select showcase, and that's in large part why she was named as one of the top newcomers in New York's Section 1. Eama will look to build on an already successful last couple seasons and help Clarkstown South get through sectionals in 2025.     Lillian Wood is a middle infielder for Cornwall Central High School who has also been with the Montgomery Devils travel organization for the last few seasons. She's a speedy player who is high-contact and absolutely flies around the bases. Whether she hits a grounder back to the pitcher or one of her many shots into the outfield gaps, Lillian hustles to get on base with tremendous success. Even as one of the fastest players on her teams, Lillian still utilizes a strong bat that gets her hits she doesn't need to run fast to get. She is a strong prospect with potential to have a high batting average, while also being a constant threat on the bases.     Seraphina Lippa is an incredibly athletic athlete who also participates in track and field on the JV team at Webster Thomas High School. She is a dynamic player who possesses tremendous skills in the circle and looks to carve out a significant role for herself this spring with Webster Thomas. Seraphina has also seen success at the travel ball level, mowing down some of the best up-and-coming hitters in Western New York. With more development of her offspeed pitches, Seraphina can take over the ace role with her teams in the next couple of seasons.
