Five 2025 Middle Infielders To Watch

This year's high school senior class is jam-packed with future college softball stars, and that includes undeniably good middle infielders. But before some of the top infielders in the class of 2025 begin their collegiate careers, they still have big things to accomplish at the high school and club levels.   Below, we examine five middle infielders to watch this season from the 2025 recruiting class.    Hailing from one of the top softball families in the country, Lamar is headed to UCLA next fall. She can do it all on the field, as she's a true five-tool player with a skillset that will only improve with age and added strength. Her steady bat and versatility give the Bruins a ton of options, as Lamar's athleticism allows her to slot in wherever she is needed most.     Acevedo is as complete a hitter as they come—hardly ever striking out—and as a result, she's helped take her Hillcrest High School program in California to the next level during her career there as a Trojan. She hopes to do the same for Washington soon, as she is set to join the Huskies' elite infield next fall.     Jones is a complete athlete who possesses indisputable power, a stellar arm in the middle infield, and the ability to step in and pitch quality innings for her squad when needed. The Michigan native will play college ball at Oklahoma State, where she could be called upon to do any number of the myriad things she does extremely well on a softball field.     Griggs will remain in her home state for college at the University of Alabama, where she will bring a strong athletic pedigree with her. Her parents are former high-level baseball and softball players who helped Griggs grow up with the bat-and-ball sports as the focal points of her athletic life. She possesses the type of speed and abilities it takes to be a standout in the SEC for the Crimson Tide.     Rodgers is silky smooth in the middle infield and has an extremely high softball IQ to match her impressive skillset. She is headed to Wichita State next fall, where she'll look to make an immediate impact for the Shockers with both her big bat and solid glove. We expect Rodgers to do just that, as she is known to have a work ethic that helps to separate her from the rest of the pack.
