About Vivian

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Passionate...I love the game and everything it gives me. I love being on the mound to help my team and want the ball in any situation.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Unbothered and confident... I try to stay focused on what I and my team are trying to accomplish and lead by example. My goal this year is to be a leader on my high school team even though I'm only an 9th grader (3rd year on varsity).

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I played JV Volleyball for the high school and a part of the Beta Club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think I am constantly building my skills. I have learned teamwork the past few years and know that it is not all on me. Also, I have learned that leadership comes in all shapes and sizes...this year I want to lead. God has a plan and I must trust in him while on my journey

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up with two parents that played P4 sports has not always been easy but I have learned what a blessing that is to have them in my corner. My mother also being a college coach has helped me get a different perspective than most.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that will drive me to be the best me...athletically, mentally, scholastically, and in my faith.

Vivian Whitfield from South Carolina can bring it at the plate as a left-handed hitter. As a freshman, she hit for a .403 batting average with a .540 OBP, and had six doubles, three home runs, and 22 RBIs. Whitfield, who plays school ball for Greenville High School and club ball for Carolina Elite 18U – Genovese/Press, gets it done on defense as well as a right-handed pitcher and first baseman for her teams. She is a confident player, who stays focused on what she and her teammates are trying to accomplish, and leads in every situation she is put in.
