About Taylor

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a RHP-only who has good command of my rise ball and changeup. With the two of those pitches I am able to keep batters off balance and pitch to contact for weak hits or strikeouts chasing the rise. I can locate well, especially pounding the inside corner on righties, aiming to jam them.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

In the circle I rarely let anything get to me. A batter in the box doesn’t phase me. I use bullpens/outside work to focus on my mechanics and spin so in game I am going out there and give it my all. I don’t get rattled easily, if at all. I have a calm demeanor and confident in all the work I put in as well as my defense behind me

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I help out our local Miracle League during the spring high school season. I have received student of the month awards at school but my biggest accomplishment is being able to help those play ball for the Miracle League. My brother has autism so I have a special place in my heart for those who want to play sports, but have to in a different way.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Like mentioned, being able to volunteer for the Miracle League is my favorite thing. I also help coach our local 12U Grapettes team. I love being able to help younger kids in the sport grow, learn to feel confident and love the game as much as I do.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced a lot of challenges, personally, as I have had a lot of medical stuff my entire life that I have overcome to be able to continue to be in the circle. I am lucky to be alive and know that my family, my team and being on the field are my motivations to push through all obstacles to be as ready as I can be! The things I go through have not stopped me once and only help me get stronger.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to stay in California. I am looking for a college with a good education in the field I plan to study with a softball program that has coaches who push their athletes to be their best selves and continue to teach their athletes the game, that is always evolving.
