About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style of play is I am a power hitting righty with an elite glove. I work on my craft relentlessly making sure I can perform all the details needed to play MIF & 3rd base. I put in as much work as I can off the field as I believe I will become what I do every day.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is if I prepare there is nothing I cannot overcome. When/if I make a mistake I shake it off and get ready for the next play/next pitch.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Freshman basketball, key club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead by example. I lead by modeling the behaviors I want out my teammates. I never walk on the field and I am the first person to do the little things that often go overlooked like putting away equipment and picking up trash in the dugout. My life will become the habits I have when no one is looking.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I made varsity as a freshmen, XCP was 2 time defending 6a state champs (now 3 time). Most of the roster from the previous 2 years came back. I settled in at 2nd base but I still needed to prove myself, I needed to contribute. In the championship game I had a 2B, 2 RBIs, and clean defense at 2nd base, against a team that had beat us twice during the regular season. It was a great Fr season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school with elite academics that will allow me to pursue a degree while playing softball at the highest levels.
