Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am able to pitch and catch at an elite level. I am also a lefty power-hitter who rarely strikes out (1 K in 200+ AB in HS and only 11 K club), so I can play all aspects of the game. Pitching and catching are two of the hardest positions on the field, so you won't find many people with the ability to do both. The best part is I feel my pitching skills have made me a better catcher and vice versa.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I'm a strong mental player who does not let the last mistake or outcome affect my performance. On several occasions I came through with a clutch hit after striking previously as well as, when pitching, strike out or force a much-needed double play after giving up a big hit. I share this mentality with all my teammate, especially the pitchers I catch for, as I have been in similar situations.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Bible, Study, Weightlifting, Snowboarding, Competitive Rubik's Cube Solving
Awards:
All Academic Honors (4.0+ and Varsity Letter)
High School Honors Biology, Chemistry, English, Algebra and Geometry
Colorado Science Fair: 2nd Place Pikes Peak Region, CO State Finalist (Chemistry & Biochemistry)
Lewis Palmer School PRIDE award
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My biggest challenge has been maintaining my grades (4.0) while also being a student athlete. Specifically having to leave class early for softball practices, games and wrestling meets and having to spend time late at night catching up on schoolwork. I know if I want to become a surgeon I have to deal with the pressures of succeeding at both school and athletics simultaneously.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a high academic college where I can play elite softball and pursue a degree in chemical or biomedical engineering/technology that will give me the best chance of getting into medical school.
