About Nola

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a hardworking and versatile player who can step into multiple positions when my team needs it. I pride myself on putting in the effort to keep improving, whether it’s in the gym, on the practice field, or in the game. I always give my best and support my teammates, bringing hustle, skill, and determination to every game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a dedicated and focused player who’s always ready to put in the hard work to get better. I approach challenges with a positive attitude and stay determined no matter the situation. On and off the field, I’m supportive and respectful of my teammates, always looking to lift others up and keep the team motivated. I believe that effort and a strong mindset are just as important as skill.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m proud to be part of the Extra Innings Ambassador program, where I work toward using my love of softball as a way to positively impact others. I aim to be a role model in my community, showing that hard work and dedication can make a difference both on and off the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my involvement in softball and the Extra Innings Ambassador program, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. Being part of a team has taught me the value of supporting and communicating with others to reach our goals. I’ve also gained a sense of responsibility and commitment to giving back, as I strive to be a positive influence in my community. These experiences have helped.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Moving from Wisconsin to Georgia before my freshman year was a big challenge. I missed softball tryouts, felt the pressure to prove myself with new teams, and didn’t know anyone. By staying positive, managing my time, and working through the stress, I learned resilience and patience. Eventually, I found my place and built great friendships.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong athletic program where I can continue growing as a player and contribute to a competitive softball team. Academically, I want a school that challenges me and supports my future career goals. I’m also looking for a welcoming campus community that feels like home, with teammates and coaches who share a commitment to hard work, resilience, and personal growth.

Nola Tylke was already on the map heading into this summer. As a high school sophomore, she had a .515 batting average and a 1.475 OPS in 117 plate appearances with 18 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 46 runs batted in. But she has taken her performance to another level in recent weeks. At the Top Gun Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., in June, Tylke hit .500 against high-level competition, spraying line drives all over the field and using her speed to take extra bases. She can play any infield position, with her strong arm serving her well at shortstop and third base. Tylke has been part of USA Softball’s High Performance Program and has attended camps at Michigan, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and more, and is certain to hear from many top programs when her formal recruitment begins in September. She is also a standout in the classroom, carrying a 4.21 GPA into her junior year.
