About Nevalena

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I take pride in my defense and being a leader on the field. I communicate well, stay composed under pressure, and work to make consistent, smart plays. Offensively I don't let the pressure get to me and stay consistent at the plate with minimal strike outs.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a calm and focused player who stays steady in big moments. I’m a little goofy with my teammates, which helps keep things fun and relaxed, but when it’s game time, I’m fully locked in and ready to compete.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in 4-H. I do horsebowl/hippology, sewing, livestock judging, archery, poultry judging, wildlife judging, and consumer science. I am in the honor club for 4-H. I also volunteer every Thanksgiving to serve veterans at the local VFW

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned to make clothing and gifts for the people around me. I have learned that giving me time to serve others is extremely rewarding. I have also learned how to step up in new roles and things even when im not comfortable to try something new.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have been overlooked and body shamed for "being to small as a catcher". This has forced me to push myself everyday to new limits. I am working aimlessly to build strength and prove size doesn't matter.

What type of college are you looking for?

D1. I would live to go to Florida State and play for Lonni Alameda.
