A few months ago, we spotlighted Madison Haught as a 2030 talent who can change the score in a hurry. Back in March, Haught reached a new personal-best mark for overhead velocity, clocking in at 64.2 miles per hour. Such throwing speed can help throw out many a would-be base-stealer. It can also help at other positions, considering she is also a utility player. Prior to her summer schedule with Outlaws Premier Grandstrand, she was part of a Canon-Mac middle school team that finished the season with a 15-1 record. Haught mostly played in left field for last month’s Alliance Fastpitch Open Nationals, but she had a pair of games where she was behind the dish. Two runners were caught stealing. Haught also delivered at the plate, including in a 14-1 mashing of KR Fastpitch 14U Parenti, where she had seven RBIs. Outlaws Premier Grandstrand finished 6-2 that weekend in Chattanooga. 

Madison Haught recently finished her middle school softball career in style. With a runner on third, she smacked an opposite-field shot over the right field wall. It was an impressive piece of hitting from the Keystone State native who took an outside pitch and, instead of trying to pull it, went with it and found the barrel. The month of April overall was full of success at the plate for Haught. At the Ohio Storm Spring Kickoff, she hit .421 with five singles, one double, one triple, one home run, and seven RBIs. She followed that up with an even better weekend, which included a .750 batting average and a 1.875 OPS. She already has all the looks of a professional hitter, and recently hit a personal best in overhand velocity, clocking in at 64.2 mph.
