About Lena

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a team player and a ferocious competitor. I am a power hitter who focuses on driving in runs, hitting for power, and being quick on the bases. I am also a player who can play the corners or middle infield, and has played outfield as well increasing my versatility in the field. I would say I am a disciplined hitter with strong pitch selection, and a steady glove with good range.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a great teammate and team motivator. I am a combination of leading by example but also being approachable. I am driven to succeed and reliable. I am coachable and open to feedback. I also feel like I am best under pressure.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am applying for the National Honors Society. I have volunteered at my club volleyball program with buying and distributing Christmas presents for the needy. I have been academic high honors each semester in high school so far.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have a team first attitude, and will do whatever is needed and best for my team and teammates while possessing strong leadership skills on both the field for softball and the court for volleyball. I have played and started Varsity in both softball and volleyball at my school as a freshman, which has instilled a leadership and teamwork ability in me even though I have been one of the youngest.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had to find a balance between Travel Softball and Travel Volleyball. I had to make the hard decision to only play club volleyball for 3 months because of my dedication to softball and the pursuit of playing softball in college.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am interested in playing collegiate softball at the highest level that I can. I am looking for programs that has a strong team culture, positive leadership, and winning culture that values academics beyond softball.
