About Kyla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very Powerful and Athletic Softball player. I can play multiple positions at a very high level. I love to be coached and learn to get better each day. I play softball with passion and to lead my teammates on the field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a person that never gets down on myself or teammates. I love to have fun and play hard. I play with a aggressive mindset looking to attack

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I received a award for being a youth usher at my church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I love to help others out at all times. I love to lead by example.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Playing with and against much older girls at my high school. I had to learn to not get down on myself when things did not go good.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college with a good education system and a good softball program. I want to play softball in the SEC or ACC.

Kyla Paul played varsity softball as a seventh grader, and while her numbers weren’t eye-popping, they show that she already belonged at that level, as she got on base more than half the time with an impressive 1.075 OPS in 21 games. Paul’s bat speed is immediately apparent — she can send the ball over the fence with barely more than a flick of the wrists. She hunts pitches on the outer half of the strike zone and even slightly off the plate, with her ability to extend her arms and still find the barrel. Paul fields her position exceptionally well behind the plate, leaping out of her crouch to pounce on swinging bunts, then spinning and firing a perfect strike to first base. She is just as good defensively at the corner infield spots, and is an accomplished student as well.
