Josephine Cheatum is gaining valuable experience competing at the 16U level while continuing to develop her pitching arsenal. Featuring a fastball, changeup, rise ball, and curveball, Cheatum has been putting in consistent work to sharpen her spin and improve her effectiveness in the circle. In her most recent tournament, she pitched six innings, allowing just two earned runs while recording three strikeouts, a 67.4% strike percentage, and a 1.33 WHIP. Her ability to compete against older competition while refining her command and movement makes her an intriguing pitcher in the 2031 class. Cheatum also excels in the classroom, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Whether she is throwing complete games or hitting grand slams, Josephine Cheatum is always performing at a high level for her AASA club team. In May at a PGF event, Cheatum threw a complete-game shutout against Firecrackers NV, allowing just two hits and striking out eight while managing a tight lead across six innings. She threw another shutout in June, this time allowing only one hit. Earlier in the season, Cheatum hit a grand slam to put her team ahead. Cheatum’s two-way ability separates her from other players in her age group.
