About Janay

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a power hitter, who plays Catcher/Corners. I have good range on 3rd base, as well as 1st base. Behind the plate i bring good glove work, to frame tough pitches. I steal a lot of strikes for my pitchers. I have a strong arm, and can drive the ball across the field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My Personality is fairly easy going, i would be consider the joker of my team. I put a lot of focus on the game of softball in my weekly prep from lifting in the gym, to take batting practice.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received A/B honor roll honors for my school work.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am working to becoming a vocal leader behind the plate, for my teammates when they need to hear a friendly voice. sometimes crazy things can happen in a game of softball, so I like to be there to help slow things down.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, i have faced some significant challenges in my life. I work hard everyday to become 1% better at every part of my life. sometimes school isn't going so well, where i may not get the grade i wanted on a test. Or my club ball coaches challenges me to better a player. when these things happen, I have to refocus and remember my goals so i can get a better outcome.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college, that plays a competitive schedule. A school were i can work in my Major, to get a degree. I want to play D1 softball. Mostly, I want the school that feels like home, with a good team culture.
