About Evelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old and it is my passion. I love nothing more than getting out onto the field with my teammates. I am a very hard-working committed player and have hunger for the game. I am a leader on and off the field. When it's game time, I'm locked in and ready for battle. I want to win. I want to be the best. I want my team to play well. I am always ALL OUT.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say that I am pretty quiet and shy. I value building relationships with coaches and teammates. Relationships help me thrive. I am very serious about my sport, want to win, and love to compete and be the best. I absolutely HATE to lose with all of my being. I am the kind of player that puts it all out there and I expect my teammates to do the same.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

School Event Planning Theater Productions: Holly Youth Theater: lead role in several musicals Babysitting/Church Daycare (I love babies;) Volunteer work at Humane Society (I love cats;) High School Art club Volunteer work at Holly elementary schools helping with math/literacy nights, school carnivals, etc. Student Leadership Team: Various school leadership jobs: class president (4th. grade)

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel that I'm a natural leader. People always seem to look up to me. I always try to treat others with kindness and will always stick up for others. I am a leader in this way also. On the field, I tend to take others under my wing-especially younger players. I often send nice messages to other players and tell them good job. I believe that a team's culture is the most important.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Every single day I face natural anxiety. It can be very challenging. It's something that I was born with and work on daily and it happens for no reason. I have learned how to advocate for myself and to communicate when it becomes overwhelming. However I have also learned how to manage it better, prepare for it, and how to intercept it before it gets worse.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would say that I'm looking for a student-centered college. A college that includes rigorous academics but also pays attention to a student's whole self. Especially the mental health of athletes, students, etc.
