Delaney Aumua
About Delaney
Expert Analysis
Benjamin Rosenberg | Prep Softball Scout
An Auburn commit from talent-rich Northern California, Delaney Aumua is capping an excellent high school career with her best season yet as a senior. In just 23 games, Aumua is batting .468 with 18 homers, and she has walked 25 times while striking out only twice for a 2.024 OPS. Her power comes from her upper-body strength, which gives her a swing that explodes through the zone with impressive bat speed. Whether it’s turning on pitches over the middle and driving them to the pull side, or extending her arms to reach an outside pitch for opposite-field blasts, Aumua does not have any cold zones, and many opponents have realized they’re better off not pitching to her at all.

Aumua, a PGF Futures All-American, has a mighty bat out of California. She’ll bring her hitting talents to Auburn next fall, where she’ll look to make an immediate impact in the Tigers’ lineup. And just like the pitchers she faces at the prep and club levels, SEC hurlers will need to be extra careful when pitching to Aumua, who is always a threat to change the game in a big way with one swing.
