About Briana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would say I’m a driven athlete during the game. I’m aggressive and confident in the field but always ready to cheer on my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel I’m a very personable person, a good leader on my team but also a good person to lean on. Mentally I try to keep a clean and positive mind focusing on learning from mistakes but also remembering and keeping what I do well or what I have done well in the forefront of my mindset as I play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved with multiple honors societies and clubs but I’m also in the Center For international studies magnet at my school where we do a lot of humanitarian projects and service projects for our community while also building leadership and global relationships.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think leadership and teamwork are two of my best qualities. I’m always ready to help out a teammate or friend and being a leader is something I’ve gotten a lot of experience with between my Highschool team and Club team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced injury challenges like every other athlete but I’ve always faced challenges when it comes to the fact that I started travel ball way later than most players. I didn’t start playing travel ball until I was 14 so that’s when I really started to improve. I’ve also faced the challenge of travel ball teams constantly breaking up and having to scramble to find new teams.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that fits me academically but where through softball I can also find a family. I really want the school I attend to have a family focused mindset because I feel like that really just makes the mental side of the game easier and more enjoyable.
